Top Gear 100 Cool List - RS 6 at no 4!
Top Gear magazine have come up with a list of the 100 top cool cars. Cool has nothing to do with cost, performance or any of the usual car measuring criteria - it's all to do with how, well, cool it is.
The RS 6 gets 4th place, or at least the RS 6 Avant does. Here's what Clarkson has to say;
Big, powerful estates are very fashionable at the moment, which is all very well if you like scaring your dog and spoiling your groceries. But only one has the sheer visceral thrust to reduce the mutt and two veg into a puree in the boot. 450bhp is all well and good, of course, but what makes the RS 6 Avant are the subtly swollen arches and mesh-filled holes, and the fact that it sounds like God clearing his throat.
The Porsche 928 GTS takes 19th, the Gallardo 28th, the Murcielago 29th, the Jag XJR 33rd, the E500 37th, and the M3 CSL takes 46th. The RS2 takes 56th place and he A2 comes in at 96th! The Audi quattro E2 9 takes 1st place as coolest rally car and the Porsce-Audi Canam gets 9th coolest sport racer.
Not a bad result, eh?
