    Newbie Reporting

Glad to be a new member of this awesome forum. First, let me bore with a little "about me":

I was born in Colombia, moved to Europe on my own when I became 17, lived in Bournemouth/England for about 3.5 years and then moved to Switzerland where I've been living ever since. When I came to Switzerland (2003-4) I had the pleasure of seeing a C5 RS6 at an auto dealer next door to where I worked. I was blown away by the sound and its presence; since then, I knew I would have to own one.

Fast forward to 13 years ago and I had the opportunity to test drive one that was being flogged off for cheap. Needless to say I was not disappointed by the concept and finally driving it!!!, though I was left heart-broken by the state in which the car had been kept. After a simple 10 mile run, big oil leak from the block (one of the many problems).

Anyway, I continued to look for an additional 2 years where I visited and tested about 11 of them, each time falling more and more in love with the car. However, each car had that little something which made me pull away (shady owner, crap service history, excessively weeping block, etc...) I almost pulled the trigger on one with 100k miles but negotiations fell through as the dealer would not negotiate anything in terms of the timing belt (needed doing in 5k miles).

About a month after that and more or less 10 years ago, my luck changed and I found a guy privately selling his 2005 RS6 Plus. In fact it was a friend of mine who found the advert since my filter was excluding that price range by about 1000 francs (+-£400). We were blown away by the level of detail he put in the advert; it showed this was exactly the type of person one should be buying a car from and thus after meeting, negotiating and befriending him, I was since then a proud owner of a beautiful mint RS6 Plus #154

Here she is the day I picked her up (some of the pics are crap and show artefacts that aren't there):

    In winter tyres:

The BBS Wheels it came with had to go 1) I wasn't a huge fan 2) It's a limited edition car and I believe (my opinion) it should be kept stock 3) It ruined the driving dynamics.
So she got her originals back on

I could not believe the state in which the car had been kept. The owner was extremely fastidious about every single detail on the car and of course I could not have been more pleased. She was sold to me with:

    All 4 new brakes (pads+discs)
    Timing belt and waterpump replaced
    DRC in perfect condition
    Just MOTed(swiss equivalent)
VAG Scanned at stealers with 0 errors on TC, Chocolate Box, Engine.
90something thousand miles on the clock
Arm rest repaired with OEM part (lid was broken)
    Full tank
Brand new winter tires with OEM wheels (in the pics)

Well guys and girls that's my baby. I've since driven it for about 100k Kms, driven her to her limit in Germany where I belted it to its top speed - also drove like a nanny at the Nurburgring Nordschleife (Video coming soon).

I look forward to being able to contribute as much as I can to the forum as well as learning from you.
    Cheers to you all!!

You're most welcome here - and looking forward to your views. Great car you have there. I gather you still live in Switzerland - which region do you call home now?
