That's why the 6.3 W12 FSI with 525 hp is sufficient.

exactly... why would audi undercut the sales of a $200k Continental, by making a A8 which is a better car with the same motor? Same reason they dont make the R8 with the full 560HP... it would be close to the gallardo, but a lot cheaper... one thing though, in my opinion, there are poeple who buy cars that are the best value for money, be it an A8 or an R8. but then there are people that buy cars because of the name brand. Bentley and Lamborghini for example... just saying, if someone wants an LP560, not becuase of its performance, but because its a Lambo, they wouldnt think they are getting ripped off, when they can buy an Audi R8 with the same performance for less money...
Unfortunately this is a sad reality.

Because, it is two VR6 engines at one place...
My dad's got a W12 A8 since 2005 and he's very pleased. But now it's milage is already 100.000 km so he is really looking forward to buying a next gen A8. And If it has a supercharged or turbocharged V8, I think he'll go for it instead of any kind of new W12. Because it will hardly be slower than the car he has now, I even think it will have more torques, it will have better consumption and not to many hp (we've got taxes based on power). And if any kind of new W12 exists, it should be much more powerful than the old one, 6.3 FSI seems reasonable to me.

Interesting - hopefully the new A8 delivers and puts Audi back on top in the premier executive league.
With all this build-up, it had better not disappoint in terms of design. Execution I am sure will be amazing. I have to hand it to Audi though, no pictures leaked so late in the game.

IM PULLING MY HAIR OUT EACH MINUTE GOES BY...thankfully i was born with a full set of hair for 10...not going bald....YEETTT!!!
A 525 horsepower 6.3 liter 12 cylinder makes the same power per cylinder/liter as a 350 horsepower 4.2 liter V8. Certainly a W12 is shorter than a V12, but the Audi V8 is also short compared to other V8s. Don't think the W12 is a very light engine.
Anyways less than 2 days until the A8 debuts. I second that this release is more interesting without any leaks.
I'm still quietly hoping that the above W12 power is lower then actual or that the S8 will have some real guts and blow any AMG with ease.
