Not to start a war here, but actually quarter mile racing comes from America(the word mile gives a clue vs kilometers n Europe):

In a recent European magazine the S7 barely beat a CLS500. How do you think it would have been with a CLS 63 AMG with 150 bhp more? Again not saying that the S7 is slow, just that the AUdi S cars are in a different league than the Audi RS, P Turbos, AMGs, Ms
etc. 0-60 mph honestly tells you nothing about the real world acceleration.

You're confusing me. The S6's competitors are 550i and E550, not the M5 and E63 AMG, and it's quicker and faster than both of the cars it's intended to compete with.

Also, you mention that "none of the Euro magazines have come close to a sub-4 seconds 0-60 run in the S8", but the very article scan you posted shows 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds!

So which do you disagree with? That the S6 is the quickest of its natural competitors, or that the S8 can't be expected to hit 60 mph (or 100 km/h) in less than 4 seconds??

Sorry to confuse You so easily, but please READ My posts before commenting. The S8 I posted is TUNED to 640bhp. I also posted that I didnt remember CORRECTLY. S6 is NOT S8! And a S6 article Was used to prove that S8 is as fast as a Panamera Turbo S in a RS6 /7 thread.

Maybe This is clearer, S6 and S8 Are in a DIFFERENT League in terms of acceleration as E AMG, M5, RS7. If You disagree, please post it in another thread So I don't need to read it. This starts to sound Like All those 335i vs MB C 63 threads... And no, don't want to start a debate, if I wanted that I would have posted that I think S8 looks like an A4.

First, who the f*ck are you to tell me where and what to post?!!?

Second, MT wrote this about the S8:

"The only car in the class that can match the S8 for straight line speed is its distant cousin, the Porsche Panamera Turbo S, and it's still a dead heat. The Panamera will hit 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, same as the S8, and run the quarter in 11.8 seconds at 118.0 mph to the Audi's 11.8 seconds at 118.3 mph. Let's not forget that the Porsche is rocking a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox while the Audi pulls off the upset with an eight-speed automatic and torque converter. Oh, and the Audi is more than 200 pounds heavier, all-aluminum construction be damned."

You obviously can't read. No use debating. The topic of the thread is next rs6 and rs7. Happy magazine driving. We can continue after you debate about a car you actually own.

Since my German isn't good, I assume the article you posted about the S8 mentioned it was tuned?

I've never seen you post on here before all this magazine stuff, seems a bit pointless as we all know each car and magazine is different. Are you on the ptt bandwagon given the sig, what do you drive?

Would be nice if you could not drag this thread into the garbage.

The last one, very interesting color.

No fan of the "quattro" lower grille. Looks like it's photoshopped there.

Ack, the rear of the car is poor looking. The tips are a bit oversized and there's a lack of bumper/diffuser, looks a bit comical. Prefer sedans anyhow but they really missed on some of this car, and the price just seems insane...other than that it's amazing

This shows that the S7 is a bit quicker than the CLS500/550 and the 650i. Just how the S6 is a little quicker than the 550i and E500/550. US magazine testing shows a similar pattern. Keep in mind that US magazines often have better 0-60 and 1/4 mile times because they test differently essentially going from 3-60 mph instead of 0-62 (0-100 km/h). Often this is a difference of .3 second on the 0-60 time alone.

    http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-revi...?click=main_sr

Based on the US testing the S8 is a little quicker than the S63 AMG and S65 AMG and not too far off the E63 AMG and M5. Based on this I would think that the RS6 and RS7 should at minimum match the figures of the M5 and E63.

That new RS 6 has some road presence, you can't argue that!
