I wonder if Castellana's heart skipped a beat when, on one of the last turns, there were what looked like horses or cattle on the side of the road. I'd sure hate to come around a bend in a race car into parading livestock.:MTM:

By the way, since CarbonFibre wisely noticed who was actually driving up the Gemenos mountain road, it might be interesting to know that they were racing there as far back as the late 1920s. Delage and Bugatti were winning marques in the Gemenos hill climbs in 1928 and 1929. The cars then were not nearly as fast as a modern race car, but of course they also had few if any guard rails or pavement and the brakes were pretty scary.
Here's a picture of one of the early Audi hill racers (Hermann Muller) in 1939. Different hill climb, but it gives a flavor for the way they did it in the Good Old Days.
