I did three weeks in Europe last year. It was awesome.
Amsterdam, Nurburgring , Porsche factory, into Switzerland were we stayed in Lucern for two weeks and day traveled around the country.
Did the Gotthard tunnel with the train. Up the Jungfraujoch (11,000 feet) by cog wheel and visted way to many relitives but had a great time.

Lots of stuff to do in the US too, maybe raft the grand canyon? Did that in 96 and it was also very cool

Come to Chile! start in desert, visit "Pan de Azucar" National Park, visit "The valley of the moon", continue going down....to Elqui Valley, and drink pisco until you pass out hahah...eat Papayas and Chirimoyas. When you get to Santiago take the wine route through the central valley. While you're at it you can take a few days off at the sky resorts near the capital. Continue going down, drink wine and eat "Curanto" at Chiloe Island, visit the glaciars and have a whisky with ice from it...

Or...you can go to Easter Island...

BTW if you choose this and make it to Santiago send me a pm to invite you a barbeque with some nice wine from the vineyards near my house :cool2: .

    Saludos,

Have you heard about the World Class Driving experience? One day driving several fabulous exoticars about 30 mi each, in various US locations, $795 I think. Haven't been to one so can't personally recommend it, but destinations include vacation spots like Carmel and San Diego ... does anyone else know more? I'm thinking of signing up myself.

Besides all the sights, good food and wine - something else could speek in favour of Vienna as one stop.

A Gallardo Spyder Rental - at Hertz in Austria

How is that for "different". I can show you some nice roads to fully enjoy it

    Nice 2 week trip

Start in Paris; spend about 4 days there. This gives you a chance to purge the jet lag. If you book quickly, you can be there the end of this week and see the finals of the French Open at Roland Garros.

Then rent a car, go west out of Paris into Normandy, see the WWII memorials and cemeteries. That will take about 3 days.

Next, drive down and find a place to stay reasonably close to LeMans. The 24 Hours is 4pm on the 17th to 4pm on the 18th. This is a race that any Audi fan, or racing fan in general, needs to see at least once in their lifetime.

After the race, you can either drive, or return to Paris and go on TGV, to Nice. In Nice, rent a car and plan to have about 5 days on the Med. For a splurge, go for an ocean view room at the Hotel de Paris on Casino Square
Book your reservations well ahead for that special night at Restaurant Louis XIV, the Henri Ducasse Michelin 3 Star flagship. The rooftop restaurant has a Michelin Star as well.

This is a pretty traditional vacation in Europe, I agree. If I were looking for a change of pace, I would take the trip to Chile that is already on this thread. That sounds GREAT, and something both my wife and I would love.
2003 RS6, Mugello/Silver, MTM Stage 1 ECM, and TCM mod, Abt 19 inch wheels for summer, stock 18s for winter, RS6+ Pedals INSTALLED! 2Bennett coilover system, 2Bennett front brakes; DRC gone!
