Yes sir that is the one !
They have to do it its included in the maintenance schedule, if they didnt do it the are in a heap of trouble if that belt breaks.

Just feel sorry for us on the other side of the pond one in a while ......, fuel runs between $6-8 per gallon, on average trip the best fuel consumption would be around 10 mpg, every time you go the the stealer you feel like you're paying for the car over and over again, no 3-4 years of free maintenance servces, car cost alone is 40% more ....

damn, I better get off the soapbox ....

That is because you are what someone over here would call "G Money".

If it makes you feel better Premium is OVER $3 a gallon this week and its gonna get higher.

    Update 3.0

Welll, the service representative has been great at keeping me updated. Calls me about every 2 days, and if I don't answer, he leaves a message.

So far the torque converter replacement is done, and engine is back in its place. He agreed that doing the 35K mile service certainly was a good call. To be fair, he had mentioned to me when I first brought in the car, and I had chosen to bring it in for that service another time. He insisted on it when he subsequently called, to inform me the engine was coming out.

The tech had called in sick today, so he'll be back to it come Monday. I think by mid next week it may be back in my hands. Good thing I have other cars to drive. I passed on the loaner.

You are funny Mike! I hope they are not running a chop shop in there. Can I help you install my RNS-E on your car? I'm most familiar with it.

I love one, but I'd only do it if I were definitely buying the car at lease end. it's looking quite doubtful at this point.

    Thanks.....

    Update 4.x

Call from the tech today pinpoints car being ready tomorrow for pickup. I'll be going by to take a look at her tomorrow anyhow, as I have to drop something off. We'll see whether she's ready or not.

On a separate note, went to the local Jaguar dealership and test drove the new XK. I'll be replacing my current 2004 leased convertible for a brand new 2007 XK convertible. Picking it up by next Wednesday, once the tech comes by to inspect the lease I currently hold. Car is much nicer inside, extremely better handling, strong on power and tranny, and exhaust note is much sexier (kind of like RS6). Pix to follow once I pick her up, and just in time for the Summer too.

    Update 5.1.2

Got a call this morning from the Senior Service Rep I've been dealing with during this whole issue, and the beast is ready to come home. Will be picking her up today.

    Update 6.9

So the babe is back home, which she was sorely missed. Overall experience from the whole service was top notch. Enjoyed getting the calls every 2-3 days, just to keep me up to date. It would have been faster, however Mike (the mechanic) had some classes to attend, and I liked the fact they did not wish to put someone else to finish the job. The guy that started the work, finished it. She sounds/rides/feels fantastic.

Here is the short list from the 35K mile service:
    (1) 078-115-561-K Oil Filter
    (1) N-013-850-3 Washer
    (10) G-052-167-A2 Motor Oil
    (2) 077-133-843 Filter
    (1) 077-109-244-E Roller
    (1) 077-109-485-E Lever
    (1) 077-109-479-D Belt Damper
    (1) 6N0-201-511-A Fuel Filter
    (1) 4B0-819-439-C Filter Element
    (8) 101-000-063-AC Spark Plugs
    (1) 078-109-119-J Tooth Belt

If you wish to ever do this service yourself, or at an indy shop, say at the 70 mile service for example, here are all the part numbers, and quantities you need. Long list of parts for the Torque Converter replacement coming up on a separate reply.
