    1) It's a 996, why not a 997?

    2) Why did they hade to chose the same color as another manufacturer?

maybe they used the alcantara cockpitparts of an older version based on the 996. but it is defenitly build on base of the 997!

maybe one thing i know better than you - don´t get me wrong and please excuse me if i´m too offense - is reading.
read the article and than have a look at the other pictures.
the dashboard, espacially the part below the radio is customized with a pressure-indicator for the chargers and maybe the 997 dashboard has no place to fit such extras in a nice way.

    That is 100% a 996.

It must've been some typo or error on what looks like to me, to be an amateur journalist part.

    Actually that's confusing...!!

It does look like a 997 outside but inside it's most certainly a 996, what's that about?

Auto Motor und Sport also said that it is based on an 997.

And it will cost about 240000 Euros.

was just on "gemballa.de" looking for infos whether this car is based on 996 / 997.

    well -> see yourself:
on top of the page you'll see the line
"GEMBALLA Program for 997 S Coupé"

    Link to Gemballa Homepage

    looks promising for me.
    so ... i think goku0815 was right.

I think that is retro touch on this car, in eighties, tinting of only rear windows on tuned cars was very ''IN''.

i think it is because gemballa is a german company. they only coloured the rear windows, because in germany it is illegal to colour the sidewindows, because the driver is not visible to police cars from the side.
that is why the coloured only the rear windows, it has nothing to do with any retro touch.

    OHHH btw
@speedou: next time you´ll be the one who is right!
