    S3 engine....

Has anyone heard what the S3 will have for a motor ?
    Higher output 2.0T ?
    3.2T ?

They're only making a 3 door version of this, correct ?

I need my AWD back.... ;-)

    I believe it's going to be a 272hp 2.0T, at least that's what I remember from a previous thread.

    Cheers,

I'm assuming this is with an upgraded turbo ?

Will it be 6mt and DSG ?

    Of course, all speculation......

I thought it was supposed to be announced fairly soon, no ?

As it seems that in 2006 Audi is introducing new models on a monthly basis (Dec. S8, Jan. S6, March A6 allroad quattro, April new TT) somewhere between Mai and June would seem reasonable

And according to Dr. Winterkorn's speech at the annual press conference - only 3door.

The wifey is fine with it.
She knows I work my ass off.
70 hour weeks, for 10 months of the year.
Cars, watches and my Kart....... ;-)

I really like this new GTI.
Great power and handling (with the mods).
But the FWD is the pits.
I thought I could deal with it, but I miss my AWD.
This just loses traction too much.

As much as I'd rather have the new Torsen, Haldex isn't that bad......compared to fwd......

    We'll see.........

    Hello Kurt.
The new S3 will have a 2.0 FSI K04 turbo engine with 191 kW/260 hp.
Haldex2 and maybe a optional DSG.

    Hey buddy,
    Only 260 ?
But I guess with a K04, it'll be tunable to about 350, as my GTI is making about 285 now with some tuning.
That's 85bhp more than stock. and it's not as aggressive as it could be I guess.....

Haldex 2 is what's in the current TT's right ?

How is the Haldex 3 going to differ ?
More Rear biased ? or sending more power to the rear quicker ?

Or is it just to accomodate the DSG tranny in a Longitudally mounted motor ?

I'm thinkin' about +300hp ? 260-270 isn't enough. You get 250 with the 3.2, no way audi is gonna make a Sport A3 with only 10 or 20 bhp more.
And by the way, S cars always had much more power than the most powerfull engine of the regular series.
    Or am I wrong ?

What the RS3 is concerned , forget about it

There was already an discussion about the 260 hp in the S3.

The S8 has 450 hp just like the W12.

    the old a3 (8l)

    1.8T 150 Hp
    1,8T 180 hp
    S3 210hp and later on 225

so its possible that it's only going have 20-30 hp more than the largest a3

According to the news in ams and Automobilwoche they are talking about significantly (in german: deutlich) more than 250 hp. I don't know if 10 hp can be seen as significant.

Only time will tell - it will be a blast for sure
