At the end, how many ''ponys'' will it have.
Original 420, or 435 that are reported from Geneva?

Dear AndyBG,
435HP (320KW), 398.28 lbf ft. (540NM)
How come they said 420hp at the press-release then?

540 Nm, nice torque figures
I don't get it...why would they say it has less power than it actually has???...maybe because at that time the S8 with 450hp was just released??Originally posted by Qisha

Or maybe they got to much complaints about the 420hp version, so they decided to change it while they still could...?

I've always believed that Audi understates the real power of the engine. Not my much mind you. Whether it is 420 or 435, can you really tell the difference? It's a fast pig. 'Nuf Said!
So is the 0-100km/h number still 5.2 sec?

Maybe Audi didn't like the criticism that the RS4's NA 4.2 V-8 produced the same exact hp as a 5.2 V-10....

I have also heard that S6 has many of the suspension tweaks of the latest RS4 giving it a firm but well-sorted ride. Add improved steering, 40:60 front:rear torsen 3 quattro system and fuel consumption that is reportedly a genuine 20-24 mpg versus RS4 12-14 mpg and you have a fairly amazing car. Not quite as 'point and and shoot' as the RS4, but still quick enough to embaress an M5 on anything other than a dry, well-tarmaced road.
I will drive S6 at the beginning of April and as soon as I have, will choose between this and RS4Avant. In the meantime, heart says RS4 while head says S6. (Wife says Range-Rover Sport, which could almost be grounds for divorce.)

One of the things I really love about RS6.com is the character and humour of everyone on it, wherever they live. This is a very special place.Originally posted by AndyBG

Get the RS4, I bet you any money it will make a better exhaust note at idle than the new S6 with the V10. It sounds like a diesel!
