Does anyone knows more about this crash?

I had a discussion with some friends on a belgian board,
does anyone know more about this crash. I was told this would be from CART series, it just doesn't looks that way to me....
can maybe someone help me out plz

Well, I don't think that looks like the CART-series at all... First of all, the car's shape isn't quite like a CART-car. Second, this might be way off, but isn't that an Italian tv-station? (Upper right corner of the picture). Can it be Formula 3000? They're obvously going awfully fast...

The experts say the circuit is Suzuka at the entrance of the "spoon" curve.

Formel 3 or some other Formula car.

[remedy]

Saw this in the www.f1onboard.com forums some months ago. Apparently it's "Formula Dream", a mix between Formula Holden and F3000. The race took place after the F1 wam-up at Suzuka, 2002. They also said that the driver was paralyzed in the crash. Very sad if that's the case.
