    RS2 and S3 racing

    Hi RS lovers,
Last weekend occurred here a great endurance race called 31º 1000 Milhas de Interlagos.
It is a thousand mile race across the GP circuit of Interlagos in São Paulo.
Many famous drivers like Giaffone, Raul Boesel, Max Wilson, Bernoldi, Ricardo Maurício, and other participated in that race.
Besides Porsches GT3, BMW M3 GT-R, Subaru WRX-R and many race propose cars, there were an almost stock Audi S3 and an Audi RS2. In the S3, only a new front mounted intercooler, rollcage, break pads, and safety items were added. In the RS2 a weight loss program (windows and interior were removed and changed for race specs) and the motor changed to drink alcohol (a very popular fuel in Brazil, available in every gas station), a cooler and much “octaned” fuel.
In a grid with over 65 cars only 25 arrived in the end. The S3 took 18th and the RS2 15th after a little crash.
Six hours of twelve were in rain. Their best laps were 1:54.485 and 1:53.080, S3 and RS2 respectively. The winner Porsche did 1:42.433. But the RS2 team is amateur and the Porsche Team is a Le Mans class runner up. Ok, there was a little Corsa that did 1:50, but it has a 2.0 liter engine with over 240hp.

    Best Regards

nice to hear audi holding it's own down in south america.
sure, they might not have finished at the top of the pac but
while the other cars were crashing in the rain or having
engine troubles old quattro was busy moving up to the

    finish line!
