I heard it's the streetversion of the 360GT, probably as homologation for the FIA GT-championship. Ferrari's answer to the GT3, finally some competition

Yes, it's the new Ferrari which will be showed in Geneva 2003.

Same engine as in 360 Modena / 360 Spider, 3586 cc, V8, but many things are "lighter and tighter." F1 paddle gear box is standard.

The color is Rosso Scuderia, same as the F1 cars.

Notice the venturi-tunnel in the frontspoiler and the smaller rear-view mirrors.
But I don't know if I like that they've removed the window openers. Well, okey - maybe you save one or 2 kilos instead of having conventional window openers but hey...how fun is't to buy a "standard" (I compare this car against other GT2 & GT3 cars which still is standard cars in comparsion to GT1 racecars with road spec.) car and don't be able to open the windows? :error:
A carbon fiber opener would'nt weight much more but me more stylish and a more practical solution IMO.

    From Ferrari.com:

Maranello, 16th January - Ferrari has always had a strong tradition of close links between motor sport and the world of the Granturismo cars. Technology and experience derived from racing have often made the switch to the road cars, helping to create cars which are exceptional, both in terms of style and performance.

This tradition can clearly be seen in the 'Challenge Stradale,' the new Ferrari which will sit alongside the 360 Modena and the 360 Spider and will be officially unveiled in March at the Geneva International Motor Show.

Today, Ferrari World gives you a sneak preview of the Challenge Stradale, which owes its roots to the International Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy race series and to the GT races which have seen Ferrari compete with the 360 GT in Europe and the United States.

The Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy is a one make series for semi-professional and amateur racers. It was set up by Ferrari in 1993 to give Cavallino owners the chance to drive their Ferraris on the track, going up against other enthusiasts, in teams set up by various Ferrari dealers from around the world. The first car to be used was the Ferrari 348, followed in 1995 by the F355. The 2000 season saw the 360 Modena Challenge make its debut, fitted with an 8 cylinder engine putting out over 400 horsepower. It ran alongside the F355. From 2002, only the 360 Challenge was eligible for the series. The Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy is divided into three international series – the Ferrari Challenge Italia, the Ferrari Challenge Europa and the Ferrari Challenge USA, with around 120 drivers taking part. Each season ends with the International Finals, which sees drivers and teams from all three championships come together to race.

The Ferrari Challenge Stradale’s racing roots can been seen in the fact it is much lighter, thanks mainly to a stripped-out racing finish, as well as significant modifications to the aerodynamics, set-up, brakes and the use of an F1-style gearchange.

The engine is a 3586 cc V8 with five valves per cylinder and titanium conrods, which has already contributed to the success of the 360 Modena and 360 Spider around the world. The chassis and bodywork are made entirely from aluminium as designed and used by Ferrari in the 360 Modena.

The car will be seen in Geneva in the new 'Rosso Scuderia' colour used for the Formula 1 cars, with a colour scheme used by Ferrari in the past on cars raced by owners.

I find it pretty funny that there is a button that says: "Race".
    The button says it all.
