    Auto Express RS6 vs M5

The more I read RS6 vs xyz road tests the more I get the impression the journalists love the RS6, but don't want to say so outright, as in an effort to "protect" the almighty M5.....

    Totally agree with you Andre,

These journo's are like sheep.. if one of the top guys say they like it then they all follow.. and I think that the M5 has been put on a pedistal for so long that they are almost 'embarrased' to say that another car is better.

I've had my Rs6 for over a week now and I have not got anywhere close to the limits. It is just aswome.. you know how the S6 pulls.. well this pulls harder and faster

Oh and I'll tell you what.. how about this for power.. I can get four wheel spin in second and if your floor it around a bend you can induce 4 wheel drift.. has some scarey moments already...

I rate myself a pretty good driver, can whip the back end out under controlled slide etc, handbrake turns etc.. but I really feel that I have meet my match with this car... I find that I don't yet have the confidence to keep my foot in.. I am always backing off.. maybe it will come in time..

The speeds at which you travel are just astonishing.. I came off a motorway slip road at 130mph (I though I must be doing about 80!!).. how the car came to a stop at the T-junction I will never know.. I thought we were going thorough the other side.. my passenger was climbing out the window . I had my foot through the floor on the brake pedal.. and if I showed you the distance it pulled up from 130mph you would call me a liar.. unbelivable

Andre.. you MUST get yourself a drive in one of these.. even if it involves a trip to Europe.. you will be blown away.. I mean the S6 is a great car.. but this is frightning

    Cheers

Nice winter shoes...what don't you do to fit the brakes.

I thought 17" winter tyres was extreme half a year ago, that's what I have on my A6, but studded since this is legal in Sweden.

oh not a problem this are the original wintertyres from audi for this car. i tried to get zr (approved for 295km/h) 19" wintertyres but there is only 1 manufactor in the moment and they are not approved for the rs6 (my dealer told me mtm (german tuner) is trying to get a approvment but this will need some more time. so i stuck with the tyres shown ...

Here is more information about the wheels from MTM.

Because of the construction of the brakes I don't think there will be a lot of aftermarket rims to the RS6, but I hope I'm wrong.

    Kye,

Like you car.. same colour as mine (Daytona Grey)
I also like the MTM alloys.. the first set on their page.. very nice.. I see that the 255/35/19 ZR are an unusual size.. I would like to get some goodyear eagle F1 but they don't come in that size

Kye...I also see that you didn't go for the drilled discs.. any reason?

    Cheers

    Dave

I am sure that the RS6 is awesome, but I will make a point not to drive one until I know if Audi SA will bring it to South Africa.

Imagine if I drive an RS6 and then the car is not introduced in this country! I'll have withdrawal syntoms for the rest of my life and might end up disliking the S6.
