Bugatti 16-4 Veyron???
Anyone who knows what the story is with the new Bugatti?
The last I heard was that they had alot of problems with the cars transmission cause of the 1000 Nm and that the engine overheated when it drove slow!!! But also heard that a handfull should be on the street?!!!

err....the project has been idle for sometime. Many project leaders are now, not with Bugatti, and the car has been delayed plenty of times, but at least you know it'll be ready when it's ready...
Ever seen those 'Grolsch' advertisements?

They are delaying the car because as jackal said there will be only a handful in the street and they want to make the car perfect. It should have no problems.

According to the French newspaper Libération who had an interview with Georges Keller (the VAG communications guy), the Veyron will be produced in 2005.
He said that the car was still a bit to heavy compared to the competition. The car is not perfect yet, so the production has not started.
There will be built 50 cars per year with a price of around 1 million euro without tax.. Because of all the investment they will not earn money on it, but they will still produce it..
In 2009 the are planning a smaller and more affordable Bugatti.

Maybe you should move to another country..
I think cars in Denmark are the most expensive ever.. Norway is not so cheap either.. 200.000 euro for an RS6

Transmission
By what i know so far the problem of the transmission is solved by using a 7 speed DSG from the mother VW.
It is set to stand an power of 1500Nm at all so i guess that the 1250Nm of the Veyron will be no more problem!
