    video: Our A6 Avant 2.5TDI MT 0-100

    hi all,

Today me and my father made some video footage about our A6 Avant 2.5TDI Multitronic 163hp, during our trip I made a 0-100 vid at the lights. After looking at the video with a stopwatch I timed it at 8.2-8.4 to 100. Quite good if you look at the factory numbers!, it feels realy quick to about 70.
And it could be even a bit faster without those golfbags and that full fuel tank we were carrying

Just looked again at an RS6 0-100 video: Major difference!

Still, I'm very pleased the way the A6 drives, the Multitronic is the best there is and we've got good performance for value I noticed today

    Open with quicktime

    greetings,

    Steve

You know...8.3 seconds it pretty good going since I've only managed to get around the 7.8 second region out of the 325i, and that has 192bhp.

It must be quattro? and the torque that monster of a diesel has.

    Thanks Steve

    hehe thanx Klint

    Nope ain't no quattro, unfortunately

But my father didn't give full throttle immediatly to make sure there is no wheelspin. He said he might could have givven a bit more power sooner.

7.8 seconds for your 325i is also nicely faster than Fact. numbers
But lets stay quiet about saying these cars are fast, were in company of RS6- owners

    Greetings,

    Steve

measuring the acceleration with a stopwatch is like measuring light temperature with your eye... you might just miss a couple of kelvins (and/or seconds).
    if you have a rotten, unloved Audi RS2 or a Mazda 323 GT-R - drop me a line :)

Hey I was gonna make a post about fast diesel cars...

I have a friend here in Porto that owns a diesel with 105bhp/L

    Yes its true!

Its a Volkswagen GOLF 1.9TDI 150bhp with a new airintake and a OBD II repro for the ECU!
It made 199bhp at the dyno and over 600nm of torque!
    He makes 6.9s 0-100

Then we have the Seat Ibiza with 130bhp stock that with small reprogramation to the ECU makes 170bhp at the dyno and 7.2s 0-100

    Realibility of these engines?

Well the GOLF made 80k kms in one year and the only problem was with the clutch....
The ibiza´s with 170bhp can make more than 200k kms before something in the engine brakes...

These engines rev to 4500RPM with no problem , and the 1st and 2nd gear can hit the 5200Rpm without blowing!

Steve : That gearbox is very strange! I cant see it changing gears!! The needle stays at 3000Rpm for a long time...that must be very bad for the clutch!

P.S. My Audi is stock , no chip or repro
