    Audi 70% of VW's profits

    VW unit Audi says sees stable '04 earnings
    INGOLSTADT, Germany (Reuters) - Germany's Audi said on Wednesday [Feb 25th] pre-tax profit fell over 11 percent to 1.11 billion euros ($1.4 billion) in 2003, meaning Volkswagen's luxury unit alone generated over 70 percent of VW's profits.

    Wow! That is huge considering how much of an automotive GIANT the VW corporation is!

    VAG should ditch Skoda and Seat. Do some hedging with the USD and improve build quality/reliability across for group.

    VW's Audi says March sales up 13%
    FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Volkswagen AG's premium unit Audi AG posted a 13 percent rise in vehicle sales in March despite the lack of its key 2004 model launches, the company said on Friday.

    I bet that's something to do with the Chinese market that Audi recently entered. Smart move by Audi!

    I'm not sure if Mercedes and/or BMW have caught onto the middle class Chinese market?

    Doesn't change the fact that Audi 100s and 200s were produced in China in the late 80s and 90s. Then they moved on to the A6 and now the A4.
