Question Help! What color to pick?!

I already mentioned that I ordered an RS6 sedan back in October. The color I picked when I ordered it was daytona grey. I've been amazed by that color ever since I saw one of the RS6 DTM safety cars from Quattro GmbH at the Norisring/Hockenheim Ring.

BUT! Now that I've seen the first 'natural' daytona grey sedan in the gallery of rs6.com (read: no light bar on the roof and no stickers all over) I was pretty disappointed and throught it'd look rather non-elegant and not really shiny. That's why I currently tend to switching the color of my ordered RS6 to ebony-black.

What I'm asking for now is: does anyone have any real-life impressions of a daytona grey sedan? Any pictures? Anything that can ease my decision would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Blue or Grey if you ask me, or go for a color of your own from quattro GmbH. It's a little bit more money but you would probably be the only one with that color and it might add to the resale value unless you chose pink.

Or try this one, if you like to stand out:

I don't like black. It need daily cleaning and I just read that white and black cars are worth less on the second hand market...

In an exhibition polished black is good, but that's seldom the case in everyday driving.

I've seen a dark blue metallic one....
It looked pefect. Only this one had no chrome at all. All acc. and strips were black. It looked cheap..If he had chrome, it would be an ultimate color combination

I have silver and black inlays/strips. It looks quite aggressive from the front, makes the grille look larger.

When I ordered it was not very common, but last time I went to a dealer almst all high-spec cars had it!

I have seen white with black inlays/strips and that looked kind of aggressive too.

Hum, looks like there are already RS6 cruising around St-Tropez...

Btw, in France, it seems the more visible the car (ie Misano Red or Imola Yellow for the RS4), the less prone for car-jacking it is.

If the future owners of RS6 want to avoid the plague we read repeatedly on RS4.org, that may be a criteria to take into consideration (apart from the Rottweiler/Doberman/Schnauzer and co. deterrent).

Anyone with good connections with a car insurer may be able to double-check that.

    What color of leaterh

The discusion about the color is very interesting. As i have decided to order my car in daytona gray there is no problem with that for me. What really gives me a headache is the color of the leather. I know, that there is not much to select, but i like the silver leather very much. On most of the pictures i think you see the black leather, what makes me think about my choice. Do you think the silver leather is very sensitive ?

I would apreciate your comments ?

I don't like silver leather, in my opinion it's good for a luxury car and not a sport car,the recaro seats are so beautiful in black:360:

I initially had my RS6 Avant ordered in Mugello blue....until I saw the color in real life and was very disappointed.....too dark and too similar to the blue metallic of my current A6 !
So I browsed car colors on the market. Next I tried to order "anniversary red" (a new xiralic pigment) from GM, used on 50th anniversary Corvettes, but Quattro GmbH said they canīt do it because tinted clear coat is needed for this color. I finally decided for "Siena red II metallic", a rich, burgundy red BMW color used on Z3s.
I guess you canīt argue about taste.................

    Thilo:
Donīt think the silver interior will be too sensitive. I currently have the "magnolia" (light beige) leather in my A6 and itīs holding up well after 2 1/2 years and 60.000 km of family use.

Well, besides custom colors not being the cheapest thing to have (EUR 2.300,-) that'd mean it'd take even longer for my little toy to get here!

    Thilo,
I have an RS6 in Daytona Grey with Silver learther interior and Carbon trim.....looks stunning. My previous car was an A6 Quattro in Silver with black leather and while it was avery nice car, the all black interior was very sombre. The RS6 feels so much lighter with the silver leather.
Having said that, I spend very little time looking at the seats whilst I'm driving it
    Cheers
    Paul
