    I’m back in the game!

Sold the RS a little over 4 years ago, needless to say the itch needed scratched. I picked up a 2013 S8 with 55k on the clock and decent maintenance history. One mans depreciation loss is this guy’s gain lol.

Although it’s been a few years, here are my initial impressions vs the RS6. Pros for S8: ZF 8 speed, Engine (APR stage 1 coming Friday!) tech like adaptive cruise, message seats, selectable drive modes, Etc., B&O stereo with Bluetooth, and a little more comfortable. Pros for the RS6: handling was outstanding with hotchkis sway bars and pilot super sports, overall felt a little more nimble due to the smaller size and lighter weight. Steering felt just right and connected, and the exhaust note wasn’t as muted.

Question for those who have the D4 S8. For the oil screen clog issue, are you replacing with the new part or deleting altogether?

Glad to be back, here are a couple pics.

Nice looking car. I would be interested in hearing more your impressions of it vs the RS6 as you but some more drive time in. The S8 is on my short list of cars that I would trade my RS6 for.

    Thanks gentlemen.

strlgag - Or you can just check it out in person at the next cars and coffee, if that’s still a thing. I’m just glad I snatched it up from Audi Boise before you got to it!

    Welcome back!

the D4 S8 is a logical stepping stone for RS6 owners. I’ve never sold my first RS6 and added a 13 S8 a couple years ago. Full APR Stage 2 on the S8 and I couldn’t ask for more.

oil screen. Flush your oil with Liquid moly flush before oil changes and change every 5k with good oil. I’ve had zero problems at 70k. If the turbos come off I’ll likely just remove them.

    Thanks!! Daytona grey FTW DHall

APR servers were down for over a week. Finally got flashed today, holy hell never felt awd torque steer quite like this. Impressive.

I’ll have my indy shop swap out the oil screen ASAP. Then I can get some Aces IV and run the 93 map. I plan to get some dragy baselines in the next week or so, Whoo hoo

Damn, it is hard to leave this forum alone! Hope your golf game is good down there in AZ, Dave.

But I have to say send back the APR tune before you install it and go with https://www.dynospectrum.com/. So many options with it and APR dropped their price as no one was buying it once the DS1 came out. I have it in my S6 and I have not heard anyone say they preferred the APR tune once they went with DS1. Check out Audizine page for 4.0TT for more testimonials. Great support as well.
First RS6 totaled at 142K. Now donor for S6 Avant project. Daily driver: Sepang Blue 2016 S6. Black optics, sport package. #2 Black on Black, Level 10 and Koni, Eclipse Nav + Sirius, 034 Motorsports ECU and TCU tune.

I saw the DS1 tune and almost went with it. Decided to stick with APR just based on proven track record and lowered price. I’m happy with the results.

facts: 1/2 tank of 3 week old 91 pump gas - no additives, full weight including spare, crap Lexani “twenty” tires, had a slight slope over the course of the run, especially 0-60 section.
