I read that it is the cat on the driver's side. The CEL has been coming on a couple times in the last month. Should I pursue replacing the CAT? I wonder if my previous issues with the misfires caused premature wear on the CAT???

    Thanks

Was this the O2 sensor that had the wiring issue? Also, this O2 sensor monitors the pre-cat, so replacing it means essentially replacing the downpipe. In any case, this is an emissions issue only and should not affect drivability. If it really is a cat issue, you could also try the O2 'cheaters' like the ones I used when I gutted my precats.
