so I did the oil on my car for the first time. being an idiot, I didn't do any research here before diving in, because, how hard can it be? I found I had to undo the front swaybar to get the filter out (I didn't ever need to access from the passenger side wheelwell however).

- on most cars the oil drain plug doesn't have to be torqued very much, maybe 25nm or so. I had to use a breaker bar to get mine off, which seems ridiculous that the last person to do the oil (an experienced indy mechanic) would wrench down the plug so tight...?

- getting the filter off and the new one in was a little awkward but nothing terribly difficult...except for getting the swaybar out of the way.

- I'd have thought that the bar would be held on with some pretty burly bolts, but the nuts were surprisingly small, which implies that the torque required isn't very much. I tightened them firmly but definitely did not use an amount of force that would risk stripping the nuts. What's the specified torque setting?

Thanks!
