    Tire Size Recommendations for 19x9.5

    Folks,
I just ordered Klassen ID M53R setup on 19x9.5 et30 based on other posts I saw on the forum for wheel size that fits the RS6.
I am looking for recommendations on all season tires, or just tire size in general that would fit the 9.5 wheel width, that won't look too stretched and it won't rub.
I am thinking something around 275x30 for tire size.

I've had 295 in the past on 9.5 wheels in the rear but it gave a bit of muffin top look.
Thank you. I know many folks don't run such wide rims on the car, but a few have it, and looking to make the right buy on the tires with your help.

For fun here is a shot of my old 9.5 rear rims with 295 tires:

So, what did you do with the Volks? I'm thinking 275/30 would fit best; let me know if you wanna go the Bridgestone route, 'cause I can get them a hair lower than the Tire Rack's pricing. Probably wouldn't trust my tire machine with those wheels, however.

    This is a tough one.....

Really need to study section width and tread width charts. I have 9.5 et33

    What suspension?

For suspension I have the KW v3. As for tires I am thinking of the Pilot Sport A/S 3 so far, given their load rating.
Would 275x25 be more suitable, even though it is slightly less sidewall?

Image of my current ride height. As you can see, I don't have it very low. I left a bit of gap.

19" wheels are going to give you a problem as far as stock tire size is concerned. Closest comparables are:

265/35-19 (1% larger) - speedo will read slower than actual speed
275/30-19 (2% smaller) - speedo will read faster than actual speed

Either way, you're throwing the speedo off enough to affect actual vs. presented mileage.

Very closest match I could find in a wider tire:
295/30-19 (<.25% smaller) - speedo will be nearly correct
But then you're going to end up rubbing on the inner fender well and casting nub on the suspension upright.

Personally, I'd recommend sticking with the tried and true, easy to find 255/35-19 - lots of late model sporty cars use them, and unless you're highly modified, you're not making the kind of power to break loose all 4 at once.
255/35-19 (0.02% smaller) - makes less difference than brand new vs. well-worn tread difference

Thanks for the great insight O_E. The only issue I have with still running 255 wide on the 9.5 wheel is that it may look stretched, and that is just not my beat.
I think the 275x30 is beginning to sound like the correct approach.
    Thanks for everyone's input.

With that et on your wheels you're going to want at least 5-8mm spacers in the back, they won't be flush with the Michelin's.. This is exactly what i'm fixing and i'm at et28

My last set-up was 275-30 and they looked good on the car, (front was acceptable, rear needs at least 5mm to match front) but what i'm trying to do is fill the fenders with a little more meat and trying to stay away from using spacers if I can, I'm also going to lower the car a bit more so hopefully it'll look the way I want with the 285-35 (not a huge difference from what i can tell)

I'm not a fan of stretch at all, kinda like the way those 295's look on your old set Very aggressive!

Every tire brand and model has different tread width, section width and diameter.

Not all 275/30s are the same.

30 sidewall does not leave much cushion for bad roads

Pss porsche fitment 265 35 19 fit nicely on 9.5 rims

BMW M5's, M3's.. ect.. stock is 285-35 on 9.5's too

I agree on the 30 sidewall, make you grit your teeth on a few potholes... buy forged rims haha.

What i'm worried about is the front running this size, I don't think the rub nub has been removed yet.

Here are my PSS 255/35 r19 on 19x9.5 wheels. They're definitely stretched (a little too much for my taste, but they came with the wheels and have tread left so I'm using them for now).

I want to thank everyone for the postings and it has been even more informative/educational than I originally expected. But this group is filled with Top Notch brain power, and it seems that I simply had set my bar too low. I sincerely thank you for all the extremely useful info.

I like what I saw in @mrdave post and as I suspected it would probably be a bit stretched. Although, in my mind it would have appeared more so than in reality.
I think the 265x35 appears to be the winner here. Thank you @Other_Erik and @DHall1 for this recommendation.

I'm very happy with 275/30's on my OZ's which are also 9.5" wide.

Audisscott what is the ET on those wheels? How close is it to the nub on the front? I forgot to check before i took mine off for refinishing....

If I remember correctly they cleared with plenty of room and they are ET30 (no spacers used in photos).

I went with et30 as well, so it seems that was a good choice for offset. Those 275x30 tires look good.

I had 275/30 Hankook v12's on my 19*10 rims and switched to 265/35 Michelin Pilot SS and the ride was much nicer (not as harsh). Two different tires so it may be hard to compare but I will be using 265's again when I replace my worn Michelin PSS.
