All domestic 01E transmissions except the one in the allroad will work with the RS6 EUU rear differential. Off hand i do not know the part codes though

Check out this site. There are still some other that are not listed but this is a great start of 01E tranny codes and a lot of other good info.

The info in this link suggests that it has the wrong ratio: 3.889 vs. 4.111

hi Guys sorry, I'm new and still a little confused here.

What is the correct Ratio required for the 01E based on the existing automatic box?

Is it a straight swap in terms of everything that connects to the portion of the gearbox/transmission after the motor and bell housing if I get my hands on any of the donor vehicles as listed.

Please excuse my lack of technical terminology and know how.

This much I know: 01E box to replace existing box.

Pedal and Gear lever assemblies need to be changed/modified.
Bell housing and adapter plate need to be modified/changed

The rest is a bit foreign for me at least for now. I've had a read through a couple guys threads that have done the conversions, usually there isn't much mention of the above, unless of course I have missed it.

This is probably one of the more in depth documented C5 4.2 manual conversions that shouws the details in clutch line routing, pedal install, etc.

    http://www.motorgeek.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=16621

The C5 S6 and RS6 already have the correct rear differential (code EUU), so there is no need to swap it out, provided you source the proper 01E, which has the 4.111:1 front differential (B5 S4, C5 A6 2.7T).

A VW Vortex guy was selling a EKM box a while back and this is what he said:

Box out of a v6 tdi audi A6. It has the built in oil pump and lines for an external cooler.

    Here's the ratios;
    first 3.50
    second 1.89
    third 1.23
    fourth .93
    fifth .73
    sixth .60

    Final 4.11
I'd call someone like Scotty at Automotion and ask him for sure, from the VW Vortex ad it looks like a good box to use. V6 TDI, 4.11, internal oil pump.

I believe my DQT trans in my wrecked RS6 has a 0.56 6th gear, for lower RPM cruising. And a different 5th gear too. 1st thru 4th I believe are the same as those listed above.
RS6 #1, 01E, 2.5" straight pipes, AMD Stage 1 6MT tune, 460awhp/530awtq on AMD's Mustang dyno. TOTALLED.. RS6 #2, Ebony Black Pearl on black/silver combination with carbon, up and running with 6 gears and AMD tune.

I am also installing the DQT, purchased from Scotty at Automotion almost a year ago. Probably won't get it done until the beginning of summer. Too many projects. Doing the Timing chain tensioners now and getting the Valve covers powder coated (just had to).

    Here's a list of A6C5 4.11 transmissions.
There's also a bunch of passat/A4 ones, but I don't have the list on hand.

EDIT: EKM is not on this list since it's 3.89.
