    I know it's not RS6/S6 related but....A4 oil change.....question

I did it today and like every other Audi I have owned the oil change was a pain in the ass.

Is there some special device used to drain the oil filter canister before opening it? I bought the required 36 mm socked (but should have found a shallow one LOL, barely fits in the space) and of course made a huge mess on the floor.

The wizards of Youtube have a few videos of oil changes in A4 but none mention draining the canister nor do they OWN UP TO THE FRIGGEN MESS if you don't drain it. So another Special Tool?????

^^ that's it right there. When I worked at audi, we had brass nipples that threaded into the bottom of the housing, that pushed the drain up. Had a clear hose attached and drained the canister. But, even with that, b7 A4s were still kinda a pain to change the filter. They seemed to always make messes.
