I'm pretty sure my next project is going to be a C7 S6

I heard that the autobox in the S6 S/RS7 S8 is more than capable of handling the power that can be put down with a tweaked V8TT.

Having the RS7 stateside gets a lot of the pieces in the US dealer's parts catalogs, too. None of this importation phooey.

And, I'm dreaming about 1 hour turbo swaps....

If the price is right I may pick one up, currently trying to decide between B8 S4, RS5, or C7 S6.

Just drove a C7 S6 today....went...meh....felt big and bulky compared to my RS......couldn't see the limits of the fenders....lots of technology....that I don't need....HUD could have used a gear display.....wasn't impressed for the 58k they wanted for it.

    I think I'll go for the unicorn....a C5 RS6 Avant 6 speed...

I already have one of these.

I'm actually looking for something a little more numbing and less violent/scary, so it's probably a good fit.

My goal is to eventually import the RS6 body panels and have another unicorn of sorts.

Plus I'm guessing that you didn't drive one with RS7 turbos and a stg 1 tune either....

There's really not much out there in the sub $50k range that Audi puts out there that even piques my interest. Hell in any price range for that matter, but with the used S6 prices and eventual availability of parts, I can say f*ck any warranty and get to wrenching without too much heartache.

As much as it hurts to say this

If i make a big purchase it could be the E63 wagon. I want something more than the SQ5...Audi could lose me. I dont have time to build the C5 avant and the wife would frown at dumping 40k in a 12yr old project.

    Isn't the S6 & S7 7 speed DCT while the RS6, RS7, & S8 auto 8 speed slushbox?

The air suspension in the S6 is just that. Air

Power is good...the drive is numb.

Yes, but Audi is phasing out the DCT and going to ZF trans for most cars. The are said to hold more power and shift just as quick as DCT now, but smoother.

I would love another RS6 but they are getting long in the tooth and I don't need that headache! I was too lucky with mine. No trans issues, no DRC issues......

E63 AMG Wagon would do me just fine, but a little out of my range with the option and color I would want!

Oh okay, thanks. I agree. That E63 is the next best thing wagon wise here. Oh well.

Rolls Royce engineering - Mickey Mouse packaging. Will always liken this car to Ford's Edsel.
    '02 S6 Avant Silver - Pokey | Carbon Black/Ebony RS6 w/ stuff - darn quick | '03 Daytona Grey/Ebony RS6 w/ more stuff - quicker yet | '91 NSX CDN issue with 6spd & BBSC - quicker yet and then some | '87 Buick GNX OEM clone w/ lots of stuff - quickest hands down
