Sold the Rs/6 on to an s7

I have sold the rs/6 and have moved to an s7. After owning the rs6 for 9 years and loving almost every minute, sold it as the down payment on this beauty. Purchased CPO from Atlanta Audi 2014 s7 exclusive edition 15k miles and 20k under its as new sticker. Picking it up thursday for the drive back home. What better way to get to know a car than to drive it for 8 hours or so. I have purchased a vagcom, so first thing will be lowering. Next will be APR Chip, HRE wheels most likely a resonator delete. Had the dealership xpel the car as well so the drive home will be hopefully care free and fun as hell. I am very interested in comparing the two when chipped. The torque on the rs/6 is unbelievable that is why it eats transmissions. This will probably be a stepping stone to a cpo rs7 in a few years.

    Congratulations - that's a gorgeous S7!

Stock to stock, the figures say that the S7 is actually quicker AND faster than the C5 RS6, so I'll be interested in your comments after your initial drive.

    Enjoy!

I've driven many S6s and S7s, and while stock for stock, the new 4.0tts are faster, they still just don't have that raw thrust of power the rs6 delievers. I never driven a chipped version of either, so I can't compare. But I do love the interiors on the new S6/S7s.

Congrats on the new ride, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

It's not the engine that is faster..... It's the tranny that has more gears, shorter gearing, and better shifting. That is what is accounting for the additional 10's of a second quicker than the previous RS rides.

Beautiful S7 you've got there enjoy. I recall the 2014 OEM S7's being rated at 420 HP from the factory however this was supposedly seriously conservative rating and as tested the cars put down 480 HP on dyno. A friend has an 2015 and we checked apr, w/ a tune the HP goes to 560 which is right at RS6 HP levels.

C7 S6s and S7s typically trap between 112 and 115 mph in the 1/4, whereas C5 RS6s generally see more like 107-109 mph.

Considering that the curb weights are close, those extra MPH aren't the result of extra gears or shift speed, they're the result of extra horsepower....

Not necessarily extra horsepower, but a much more efficient transmission as well. And all these new 4.0tts are under rated from the factory.

congrats, you'll love it . Would've been nice to be able to keep both, but the S7 will make you more than happy! It is definitely quicker than the C5 RS6, though you won't really feel it, unless you keep an eye on the speedo. I drove the C7 S6 and it is a really good machine, it lacks a bit the grunt of the C5 but it is much more refined and smooth which makes it a perfect every day car at the same time being a powerful tool when required.

I drove an S7 and S6 on a track at an Audi event. VERY NICE CAR. And with a $1500 tune it's Crazy Fast.

    Enjoy,

thanks everyone. I have driven a stock s7 and it has some turbo lag that the apr chip will take care. It was a different feeling than the rs6 and I have been running the apr chip since 2006 in it. Amazing torque. But 3.5 0-60 and 11.5 quarter mile after chip for the s7, yes sir. BTW I did try the launch control with a salesman in the car works like a charm . Would have loved to keep the rs6 but this is an effective replacement performance wise and with the hatch it has more cargo area than my suv. Besides the fact cpo 100k warranty. Just spent 9500 on the rs6 new tranny, tc, timing belt, etc... Selling both of my vehicles for this. Purchased a vagcom and this c7 platform provides a number of fun modifications like lowering the air suspension up to 17mm.

I was going to trade my RS6 to get a new 2013 S8 which was same color combination so none would have noticed the swap LOL, but they only offered me $5,000 in trade! WTF.....I got $5,000 in Audi loyalty without a trade on my A8L....those bastards..

Wow, you'd think they'd at least have offered you $10k to not look like a bunch of jerk-offs

I was supposed to go to Monticello Motor Club to drive the S6, S7, S8, RS5 and R8 for the Audi Brand Specialist training when I was an Audi salesman in 2012. Unfortunately, this was my first sales position and as I really didn't know any better or have enough formal training or experience, I wasn't making the cut as a salesperson and got let go. So upset I had to miss that event. Go figure now that I've been in sales for 4 years that Audi dealer wants me to join their team again...

That is insulting...Let's just say the Manheim runs aren't even that bad on our cars (just looked). And that is my floor, in terms of dealers. If they don't offer me auction equivalent I chew their a** out. And they get real flush especially if its a dealer that has to supplant inventories often with auction, then you're really calling them out (you are giving them a car without buyer's fees and transport).

Turbowned, that 2012 event was the one I was at! LOL.....it was fun. The small track with the S5 vs TTRS was fun, I came in THIRD! LOL.

DMB408, I was quite surprised, but did not know what the car was worth at that point to begin with, but after looking at the used car market for my son and seeing what was out there for under 10K I was AMAZED at their low ball offer. 5 year old civics were going for 6 grand. What ever.....He's driving my A4 convertible.
