Special Sauce now lives in CT

Just wanted to let the community know that newly joined RS6.com member TedShred has purchased "Special Sauce" and I couldn't be happier. He is a great "car" guy, loves the car, and will be a great contributer here in the forums.

I plan to change my username now that she has sold to avoid confusion.

Happy New Year RS6.com'ers and thank you!

Congrats, but don't make her a garage queen. Your car is in fact special, would have made a run at her if it wasn't for California emissions issues. Glad to see that you're on the forum, and can tap into the wealth of knowledge about the car. Waiting for the Crazy Train intro..

Car is special. I don't want to subject her to winter salt and grime. I use my 2000 A6 for that

Nice pickup! Try and get it out some or warmed up good once a week, I'm sure you'll take good care of it. Seems like just as many problems arise from letting a car sit. So was everything sorted with the tune, did the water meth kit ever make it on? Find the trans a bit rough at times on certain shifts? It should be strong being a 517 rebuild I think. Out of interest, why was it being sold? This beast gets passed around a bit for whatever reason. Cheers!

Stickers will come off, tranny shifts rough sometimes, car is very fast . Previous owner has new interests in A8's now. I have not sorted this car out yet so I don't know if it has issues. Hopefully just minor stuff that I already know about like rt front axle boots. Any experience to there about ft rt axles and issues with those.

I've noticed on my trans with maximized valve body pressure, and one extra clutch disc per pack, that under slow (coasting or light braking to a stop light) decelerating in 3rd or 2nd, it will bang pretty hard on the down shift when in Drive. I've determined this is due to the shift not having the proper rpms (higher). If I just slow down a bit quicker, more braking, it's always very crisp. Acceleration is always perfect for the upshifts It can just catch you off guard sometimes. But in general, a modified trans just seems to be a bit more particular about shift points, but it's easy to manage in Tip mode.

Get that thing on a dyno and make sure it's all buttoned up. Sounds like it's always been tuned on the aggressive side. Water meth could help that.

I think there is a lot more left in that car, stick with EPL to get there. Hopefully we'll meet up soon...no more RS6 for me. but I'm packing some domestic muscle now...
