Ha, yes, calculated IDC of 104.5% at 5500 rpms and your reading of 22.8ms opening.

I'll figure with this, being a calculation based off multiple parameters, it's not 100%.

But sure seems like you had your injectors at 100%, and they can be right, the just stay open, you just don't want them to stick open

Fuel injectors are not able to operate in this manner. Max duty cycle is about 80-85%.

I understand that is recommended max, and would not go above that, but I thought 100% duty cycle, is 100% open, 100% of the time.

I'm using the numbers to roughly gauge tuning. Basically when stock my calculated IDC was around 70%, after boosting fuel 25%, my calculated IDC was around 79%.

Yes, running your injectors static will almost guarantee a new engine.

In this test, I removed the power cable to my N75 valve to run the lowest boost possible on my upgraded turbos.

    Two test, first 19.9ms with 0.76bar= 11psi
    Next test 20.8ms and a top boost at 0.8bar = 11.6psi

If 23ms i maximum possible then 20,8 must be 90% duty cycle.

    I don't have a log file from when I tested 1 bar = 14,5psi boost.

Nice, thanks for the details. Do you know how much fuel you were adding at this point? Main fuel, secondary trim, fuel under load?

I'm working with four parameters here; Fuel under load, Fuel decreasing load, Secondary fuel trim, Overall fuel amount.

I have learned now that at 6000 rpm so the injectors are 100% open at 20ms.

So the easiest to see how much the injectors are open is at 6000 rpm.
In my test2 above with 0.68bar boost at 6000rpm I had 19ms that means 95% duty cycle, despite such a low boost.

    3000 rpm 100% is 40ms
    4000 rpm 100% is 30ms
    5000 rpm 100% is 24ms
    6000 rpm 100% is 20ms

we have lowered the ignition by 5 degrees to protect the engine so now I only made 100-200 km / h in 7.6 seconds.
But I also tried to measure in mph, so I tested the 60-90 mph and 60-125 mph.

60-90 is in third gear went at 2.7 seconds
60-125 is starting at third gear then shift into fourth gear at 95 mph and drove to 125 mph in 8.2 seconds.
This is still the standard RS6 injectors and they are now at 100% open from 5000 rpm and up.

Next thing to do is to put in my new EV14 95lb/1000cc injectors.

Here you can see my me7 log on the 60-125mph test, the first image is in third gear and then I switch to fourth gear on the second image (line 56 to 66 is the gear change)

If you look at the three blue lines, the far right line is the MAX opening time that is possible at that rpm and the two blue lines to the left is what the ecu tries to and it is above what is max possible in bank2 already at 5k rpm = my injectors is open 100%

I could take a good dump and still wouldn't be anywhere near close to being under 4000lbs. Aside from and 01E, exactly which diet plan did you have your ride on?

With manual transmission you save a lot but then remove the rear seats and all carpeting and replace the front seats with light weight race chairs so you should come down under 4000 lbs

And also, this is a, if I remember right a 1997 S8 with an RS6 engine? Ain't those about 100kg less than an RS6 to start with?

(I follow your thread on the Swedish community Rejsa. Keep it up! )

RS6 was too small for me

So I have built my own RS8

I had a manual gearbox from the beginning in my S8.

Here is some work that have been done in my car.

The block must be grinded and welded to fit the S8 starter to manual transmission and make the adapter to the starter motor or buy rebuilding kit available to the RS6 for manual gearbox transplation.

Weld engine mounts on the front engine frame because they are not in the same place on the RS6 engine. and cut out and modify the frame to accommodate pressure pipes to the IC.
And NO, the rs6 engine frame will not fit on a D2 chassie so I can't use that one.

Making room for IC's on the sides = fit a smaller coils container on that side and on the other side move the ABS unit and bend all brake lines to make them fit again on the ABS unit and also remove ac filter dryer and AC pipes etc. to make room for IC

The rs6 and S8 electrical system must be paired = mass job, then a tuning company have to remove all Canbus functions as well as automatic transmission and lots of other fault codes in the RS6 ecu you will have when you start the engine first time.

Modify the pedals and mount RS6 gas pedal because it is electrically controlled to the throttle and not with wire as the S8.

Move the flywheel sensor or modify so it reads right against S8 flywheel and buy Sachs Race pressure plate and sinter clutch disc so they can handle the torque of the RS6 engine.

Modify the fuel system, the A8/S8 fuelpump can handle about 400hp not more, but it will work to fill a catch tank were you have a Bosch 044 or Walbro 450 fuel pump installed, and it will not work to fit better fuel pump directly in the S8 fuel tank.

Move forward the water cooler 2cm to make room for the engine and rebuild the fan cover to fit the RS6 electric fans. (RS6 has 2 electric fans S8 has 1 electric + 1 that spins with multi strap) RS6 has completely different fan control with "ecu" that controls the fan speed instead of a resistor bridge as the S8 have.

Modify RS6 water pipe at the rear on the engine for the pipe to the heater and modify the RS6 water pipe on the side of the engine to the S8 radiator.
even the bottom cooling pipe from RS6 must be cut and welded to fit the S8 radiator.

Install an big oil cooler in the front and fix hoses to it.

Making new servo hoses and new servo jar (A4/RS6 is much smaller) or move the big S8 jar.

Modify or build new RS6 downpipes and new exhaust I have 2x3inch first, then it is 1 x 3.5" from middle of the car to the rear.

Modify RS6 airbox on the engine so it fits in the S8 engine compartment and then you have to move a bit even on the S8 conservator that sits on the side of the engine in the S8.
Then you have reinforcements on the inside of the hood that needs to cut away, otherwise you can not close the hood with RS6 airbox on the engine.

S8 cruise control will not work on the RS6 engine, trip computer will not work and it is hard to fit everything with AC parts still there, so the easiest is to run without aircondition.

Is probably something I forgot ..
