    Bluetooth OBDII for Android

Looking into this, seems to be best one on the market.

    http://www.scantool.net/scan-tools/s...bdlink-lx.html

Also found a plugin for the Torque app that monitors/reports trans temp.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...owl.torquescan

Plan is to mount extra phone with holder. Should give me constant access to a good amount of parameters. And if I don't have the laptop around can do a quick diagnosis.

I've been wanting to play with one of these for quite awhile. If you go this route, please keep us informed.

I'll have this setup in a week or two and will report with some details. I'll plan on comparing Ross-Tech to confirm the measurements are accurate. They should be as it's the same info coming from the computer. Only issue I see is detection and data speed over the Bluetooth. These guys say they are fastest on the market, 300% faster than the wide array of cheap versions that are available.

Plan is to monitor engine/coolant, and trans temps. Also keep an eye on fuel and boost.

Yah the lack of boost gauge bugs me, coming from the B5 S4 world, I got very use to watching my boost.

Well it works for a few of the main categories I wanted. Oil temp doesn't register, but I do get trans temp and coolant temps. Also a battery voltage that is more accurate than the needle I would say. Temp gauges can be set for high temp warnings, and they also log high temps. Handful of other parameters such as boost, timing, lambda O2 voltage...no EGT though it seems. I'll do some road testing soon, this is just garage setup, seems good though, about .5 to 1 second delay from car to meter readout with data transfer over Bluetooth.
