Mech Issue with ac compressor not turning on.

My a/c compressor is not turning on and the Econ button on my climate control stays lit even after pressing it. Hot weather is coming soon and wouldn't want to be stuck in traffic with no air conditioning. Does anyone else have this problem or does anyone know what the problem might be?? Thanks!!!

Could be the climate control panel. Not sure if the Auto button will come on (LED lit) if the system is low on refrigerant (low pressure switch cutoff).

^^ check the refrigerant first and then, if this has happened while staying in traffic, it might be due to your driver side fan not engaging.

There are a lot of reasons why the A/C won't come on as I found out. Mine was a combination of the aux fan not coming on and the high pressure switch being faulty. Checking the refrigerant first is probably smart and also checking the code that is thrown.

Same happened here. Bad fan for me. But yes check refrigerant. Can use vagcom I believe to check pressure quickly. See if both front fans come on?
