    Brake rotors and pads for c5 rs6

    Brake pad warning light came on yesterday.

    I've seen several posts saying the stock pads are not good. Is there a consensus on what to use for moderately aggressive street driving? EBC yellowstuff or redstuff? Pagid? Hawk? Jurid?

    Is there an alternative to the stock rotors, or at least a place that has them for less than $340 a wheel?

    I paid $800 for a set of front rotors. They are not cheap!

    EBC Red stuff for low dust. Must do a VERY gentle break-in over first 3-500 miles. Next time I may go with Hawk.

    And if you send them off to Frozen Rotors (no affiliation or fee paid to me), shipping is $70, process is $100 and includes shipping back.
    The squeal was horrendous for the first 600 miles with the REDS, but with some high speed moderate braking, things settled and no more squeals.

    Their website does not list the rs6 as a model option for 2003.

    Correct, they don't list any RS models, but all the RS parts are there!

    Just enter the part # you need and enter your VIN upon checkout and you will receive the correct part. You can call if you feel more comfortable, lots of us use Genuine.

    If you need to search for parts you can use ETKA or ECS Tuning to find the part #, then port it over to Genuine.

    I sent them an email.

    Someone just put a set of four rotors and stoptech pads up on ebay for $1074. I emailed him to get pricing on the rotors alone, and the rotors with redstuff pads. We'll see who gives the better price.

    I hope its not these; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Audi-...Q5fAccessories

    Those are Junk. RS rotors are special, and its not a good place to use sub par parts.

    That ebay listing is for TWO rotors and FOUR pads.. not a set of four rotors all around.

    ballywizard;

    Are you sure you need new rotors? Are they chewed up by the OEM pads (grooved)?

    You can check the thickness to confirm;
    Front disc thickness minimum 32mm
    Rear disc thickness minimum 20mm

    I made some inquiries to see what I can get for brake rotors and pads.
    Any one heard of DBA : Disk Brake Australia? They should be in the process of producing RS6 rotors..
    For pads:
    Ferodo is used a lot here, but when I asked for prices the distributor mentioned that the Ferodo DS2500 would not be up to the job and adviced Formel ceramic pads
    Does any of you heard of/used Formel pads?

    I had DBA rotors on my s4 and they were great. Lasted and never warped and got beat on pretty hard. The gold accents looked slick too.
