    Engine Pull

Well, we got the engine/trans out. Took about 8 hours. Never done this before. Now the hardest part is getting the trans separated.. any tricks?? can't quite get to the TC to undo it.. seems like a LOT of stuff is in the way to get everything disconnected.

Still considering pulling SAI, but don't want to deal with emissions.

Congrats!! You're there....starter comes off the get at the TC bolts (6 of them). Right turbo for sure, I took both of mine off. All the trans bolts of course....and don't forget to put the starter bolt back!!

I know what has to be done.. that last bolt for the starter (towards front of motor) which is hidden under the oil filter housing. But HOW?

    Thanks Greg!

Do you need to do the Bufkin pipe? Then pull the oil filter housing.....

Definitely do the Bufkin pipe. The sandwhich adapter for the oil cooler spins right off and gives you more room by the starter.

Heat will be your friend if needed. While you are in the area, be sure to check your rear main seal or go ahead and replace it while you are in the neighborhood.
