    Boost leak test

Alright guys, we have been retuning my car and it's ripping hard on e85. Problem is we need to test for boost leaks. I've check the DIYs and to be honest they suck. Ive owned several b5s and know how to test for boost leaks on those but with the dual mafs it seems much more difficult on the rs6.

does anyone have an actual DIY on how to properly check for boost leaks through the entire system?

You should post that video from instagram (acceleration) so everyone can see how much faster it is.

Would you be able to check it through Vagcom block 115 requested vs actual in turbo mode. This would only verify that there is a potential leak, but obviously not tell you where it's coming from.

Smoke test on a chassis dyno?

ID:	14292I was able to go to Home Depot and get all the following parts in the picture, use the 2 drain stoppers 3inch in diameter to plug the 2 inlets when air box is removed. Disconnect diverter valve passenger side preferred, use the tube with the cap to block diverter valve, and the open side to insert pressure.

    Kmh.

that was up to about 120mph or so. You can see the car getting ZERO traction in first gear and even up to 5,000 rpms in 2nd. It's pretty insane now.

    Both are just stupid fast!

btw: what so special about an e85 tune? Isn't it just higher octane? Is there a difference in that and 93 with a 110 race mix?

Wheel spin isn't your friend on a pull like that. Have similar woes here depending on the day. Improve your video by getting the speedo in frame. Reving quickly doesn't mean going fast if you have traction woes. Just ask a TT Merc Owner whose cars have more power than ours, but run slower due to inability to hook up. Still hellishly quick.

Back on topic. No major boost leaks. I did buy the Apikol maf seal kit and install that. I also do notice a hissing from possibly a check valve under the intake manifold on the drivers side during pressure testing. Anyone had an issue with the drivers side check valve that runs parallel to the ground and points towards the rear of the engine? Looks like its not accessible without remove the intake manifold.

What is the actual problem you're searching for? So you're now upgraded turbos, 6 speed, and E85...damn that's some power. You spray W/M also to keep it cool? Would be interesting to see log numbers such as egt, boost, timing.
