    tuned ecu c5 RS6 for sale/trade?

Audi dealership Replaced my APR tuned ecu with stock ecu!!!! Say there's NOTHING THEY CAN DO.... can't find old ECU. APR said they can't honor my purchase without the physical Chip. anybody happen to have a chipped ecu from a salvage or anything. Please let me know.. at the risk of sounding whiny... I just want my car back.

For $500 including same day overnight shipping, I can offer a solution that's a little bit faster than APR for a fraction of the cost.

11.9 in the 1/4 mile with 206K miles on the odo and no mods other than the tune:

Members Kgnast and Bigglezworth both have my tune in their RS6s if you'd like to ask them for their impressions.

thanks for the reply. I'd like a some info before i went that route. Prefer to go with something trusted. What exactly are you doing to the ecu maps? what kind of R & D went into developing? single flash or chip? single or multi map settings? Please offer a little more info. If you do have a good product/service that you stand behind, i'm at that price you'll get a few more customers. but.... these are very precise machines. Allot can go wrong very easily.

Boost, spark advance, and air fuel ratios are optimized for maximum power. Top speed governor is gone. I went through literally dozens of different file revisions to perfect this tune on my own RS6 back in 2009 before I offered the tune to others. I've logged MTM, GIAC, APR and others and can personally guarantee you my tune is just as smooth but considerably faster than MTM/GIAC/Revo and a little bit faster than APR.

It's a single program flash. Since I am bench flashing the ECU, you will not run into issues like you did with your APR ECU. This is because APR solders a chip to the board and over time, due to vibration and wear and tear, the chip can get dislodged, stranding you from your car and reducing your ECU to a paperweight. Bench flashing is much more reliable since you are not physically soldering the board; only re-flashing the software that's contained in the stock EPROM.

This tune has racked up 100-200K combined miles on 4-5 RS6s without any issues. Went 11.5 in my grey RS6 and my blue car (now Bigglezworth's) ran 11.9.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

I've done both but unless you're planning on launching the car on the street or dragstrip, it's really not needed. The RS6 already comes with a very good TCU program from the factory. If you have a VAG-COM, I can send you instructions for recoding the TCU's soft coding so that it's in sport mode. I recommend either that or an MTM TCU unless you're a hardcore dragstrip junkie in which case I can do a custom TCU remap for you.

I have a different file for 91 octane. The only difference is timing.

My ECU went bad recently, and I too had the APR mod installed. You will need to have the car sidelined for a bit, and have the ECU sent back to APR. You have the serial number of your prior tune, and they will honor that and you'l have your APR mod back for the cost of pulling it and sending it back to APR. For me, the whole process only took a few days. I would argue with your dealership, as they should have offered to do this for you. If you do this, be certain that they reinstall all of the programs. Mine came back with only the 91 octane program, and I spoke with the programmer at APR and he acknowledged his mistake. While that is a significant bump over stock, I was running both the 93 and 100 octane tunes on occasion. I decided not to pull the ECU again and just leave as is. The difference between 91 and 93 is 512 vs. 520 hp, and I thought the hassle was not worth 8 hp. This won't cost you more than the cost of the ECU pull and shipping- and again, you should argue that your dealer should have offered to do this for you- and since you probably liked the APR tune, will save you $$ over any other option. And you'll have a tune that is recognized by all Audi folks.

yea wait isn't it the law (like a serious law) that they have to give you your used parts or offer them to you, otherwise compensate you or pay fines etc.

Aha, this is where your apr went. Guessing you bought the car used and didn't buy the tune yourself? What caused Audi to pull the ecu, seems odd?

We just had an issue with our other APR tuned car, 2009 A4, where the original owner had installed an 034 Motorsport high flow exhaust, and the APR chip had to be modified to allow that mod. However, it also made the car fail California smog check when we had to do this recently. We contacted APR and they were able to verify that this had been done and so 034 could reflash the chip with minimal charge, per APR. Thread may be dead, but I wonder if BigD ever got this sorted out.
