Cold Weather Package for C5 RS6

I was reading on QW about someone that had their driver's side lock freeze where he couldn't get the key in the slot to unlock the door after a day of skiing (never mind the remote and not a C5), so he climbed in thru the trunk to the drivers seat. Another reader posted that since he had the cold weather package, all he had to do was to lift the door handle to start the "warming" process on the lock to thaw it?!?!?

Is this true or a load of malarkey?

I dunno about that..... I see nothing in the parts sku's (WorldPa) or graphical explosions (Mitchell's) on door parts for RS6. Never heard anything about this as an included feature either and I used to work as a salesguy at Life Quality Audi when the RS6 was released stateside and we had to go through the ole "sales training" regarding features/specs on this car.

Who here has had to replace a door lock first hand before?

Newer Audi's with the cold weather package have this feature but I don't think they had it back in 2002~2004.

According to my 02 and 03 Audi brochure specs there is no mention of it but remember mine are UK ones.

Sounds right. I want heat in the steering wheel! Too cold in Sweden!

I have heard rumors that the UrS6 had this in the newer models but never actually saw it. It might have been the 1997s in Canada.
