    Resurfacing rotors

Putting on new pads for the rear and looking at having the rotors turned/resurfaced. Seem to be having a hard time finding a shop that will do the crossdrilled rotors.

Rotors aren't in bad shape with just thought I would do it since it is apart. Suggestions?

It's rare to hear of people resurfacing Audi rotors. Personally I would not do it if they aren't in bad shape. (And if they are in bad shape, chances are they are near the wear limit.)

Try a race shop or automotive machine shop. Most places won't do it because it eats their tooling. Also there is not much life in the rotors to begin with so surfacing may do more harm than good.

If they are not tore up I would just hit them with some sand paper and bed the pads.

These are Big Money cars, let's not go cheap especially on the Braking. My Rotors are just about shot (really grooved) but I am trying to hang in there while I save up for a C6 RS6 BBK. If yours are in reasonably good shape then leave them alone until you can replace them. Do not resurface them, a waste of time and possibly dangerous (Rotor disintegration due to its weaken nature) . Just my Opinion.....

Went with the resurface option. Found a shop owner who is a racer and knew exactly what they were. $32 to resurface (still above the .804 limit) , $26 for ceramic pads. Since I don't track the car I'm thinking they will be just fine. Let you all know, Thanks!

Where are you jacking from? The Control arm? I would recommend you use the normal jack points for safety and limiting damage!

Using the standard jack point. That's the safety jack to keep my wife from buying a new RS with the insurance money.

might pay to check out the new unit 20 loba brake rotors as an another option.

Ironically may be sourced from good ol USA.

Not EBC reds that I know of. The pads are almost gone on the front so looking at putting the Hawk street pads on. I'm assuming that the bluing of the rotor is temp related. Slight vibration under hard braking so I'm assuming they (the rotors) will need attention as well.

If they are stock pads DO NOT let them wear completely out! They will gouge the rotor and destroy it due the the pads having pins that protrude into the friction material.
