    My RS6 at the 'ring.

I thought I would share a few photos from my recent ring trip, I also took the car back to where it was built, quattro GmbH in Neckurslum and took the factory tour. Convoy from England across four countries and autobahns included 2x C6 RS6s running 740/780 BHP respectively, and Amanda's 950NM C5 along with mine, two B7 RS 4s, five R8s including a V10.

It all started off with a tank of fuel, this is $202. I reckon I used about six tanks too. Take note US guys, and never complain about fuel prices again.

Finally on the way, we have just crossed France this is Belgium, we didn't let the bad weather get us down and quattro took care of things...

Our fun was soon stopped when members of the public reported us for 'racing' through Belgium, and we were all pulled by the police. One of the C6 RS6s was doing 190 MPH!

My beast taking a well earned rest.

Anyway, we sweet talked our way out of it with a warning and carried on just slightly slower then we were travelling pre pull for the German border.

At the Am Tigertan hotel where we were staying, right next to the 'ring.

This is us leaving quattro GmbH. V10,V8,V10,V8,V10,V8,V10, in that order.

We saw lots of these, I managed to get some 102 RON race fuel!

    A few action shots.

Am I going back again next year? You bet, in the RS6? I'm not sure, it handled the ring really well, and a lot better then I thought. I wouldn't mind taking it again, but am planning on getting myself a second car in the form of a BMW M3 for the fun twisty stuff.

I'll fly over just to take pix and video of you all !! There is no better time for a car enthusiast than to spend some time at the 'Ring.

Perhaps make it an official RS6.com GTG (?)

I had mine on it for a few laps in 2011 during a trackday, only because we blew the head gasket on the track car though. Not a lot of fun....1 or 2 laps is fun for giggles but I started getting serious brake fade halfway around the first lap and I had to coast from 2/3rds through or so due to very very high oil temps (around 140C on the gauge I would estimate)
Ambient temps were quite low and the car was still on the standard ECU as well. They're fairly capable in terms of lap time you will dip into 8 min BTG pretty easily if you know your way around and have no mechanical sympathy. From the video it turned out I did about 9:15 and lost at least 30 seconds cooling the car down the last third of the lap.
But the C5 is a fish out of water on the Ring, I think the trip itself is a lot more fun than driving the actual track.

B7 or an R8 though, yes please! Would be happy doing a dozen laps a day in those.
