Mailed my TCU to Montreal! Any input on best 'testing' method

Hi, I finally took the time to mail my TCU to get a MTM upgrade. My car is in the shop getting timing belt and a new IC, etc....

What's the best 'break in' or 'test' for a new TCU? Plug it in and drive normally? Vag-Com it after install? log anything?

I noticed right away that the shifts were crisper and it would hold a gear a bit longer. It also seems to not shift around as much (searching for the right gear) when driving around town, maybe because it holds a gear longer in the rpm range. I have found myself occasionally doing a manual shift when driving in auto, the mtm will sit at 2,800 or so for a while, not optimum for fuel.

Yeah....I've found that once in a while (in traffic?) I might have to put it in TIP and bump it up a gear just to lumber along at a lower RPM...and if you start moving..bump it back down a gear so you don't slip......
