    Question Replacements better than OEM

So, I'm trying to learn some about this platform, and I'm interested in keeping my car as stock as possible.

That in mind, I also know from dealing with an A4 for 115k, that there are definitely non OEM replacements that address potential problems over time.

Perfect examples. MAF seals are leaking and you have the Apikol or OEM choice.
Intercoolers are leaking... OEM v. aftermarket alternative

What are the other non-OEM replacement parts that YOU recommend considering for use?

Lots of good info and enthusists on the board... I lean on these guys ALOT! As of today, I'm totally stock except for the suspension...

If the DRC is still on the car, it will eventually degrade/leak/fail... When it does, replace entire system with aftermarket coilovers (Bilstien, 2Bennet, KW's) or swap out the DRC strut cartidges with Koni Yellow Sports.

Brake pads. Many better options than OEM pagids.

Vacuum hoses. Most have had better luck with silicon.
