    New issue need help 911!!!

Yet again my Audi RS6 is acting weird this am when I went to open the door key fob did not work so opended door manually with the key. Car starts and alarm proceeds go off for first two minutes of driving car...and the flashers (hazzard lights stay on) park the car turn car off alarm sounds for another two minutes and the flashers/hazzards will not shut off even after the car is turned off. WTF? Should I try and disconnect the battery? Also then will I need the code for my RNSE to get the damn thing to work againAghhhh This car is driving me nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most cars reset the alarm system if you go back and open the door with the key and then start with an appropriate key. Try you second key. Try a new battery in your faulty key.

Or, you may actually have a problem with the alram system. I wonder if you can disable it with VAGCOM...?

Try locking it and then un-locking it from the drivers door with the key....do you get the little chirp that say's it locked when you do that? Do the parking lights flash? Hold it momentarily in the lock and in the un-lock position when trying.

Tried a new battery in your faulty key, and put the key in to lock unlock and it still does not seem to be working. Will try again. On a positive not the issue with the blinker not blinking has mysterisously resolved itself!

Any rain recently? Check to see if your carpet is wet on the driver's side front. That's where the central locking unit (CLU) is located.

    Be careful with this^^^

Long story short - I had the key fob battery changed out and as a result, it reset the remote codes in the key fob thereby making the entire key/alarm/immobilizer for that key USELESS until corrected by dealer.
And then at the same time, the f-ing idiot that pried the fob apart - he broke it.

so 5PM, Friday night, dealership closes for the weekend in like 5 minutes, with my daughter - I have a broke key fob (3 pieces), remote will not function, car will not start... Think I was happy? THEN the f_ing idiot that broke it looks me square in the eyes and says "I didn't break that".... war was imminent...

I also had to have my key fob reprogrammed by a dealership, as it was not functioning at all when I bought the car. Yours may also be FUBAR. If you eliminate all other possibilities, you might consider this as an option.

    Thanks Josh!

Problem solved, josh was kind enough to give me instructions so I did not need to go to dealer to reset keyfob. Went to target got correct keyfob battery replaced dead battery with new and then :
Hold the lock button , turn the key to lock position in drivers side door and hold for a sec. Remove key. Presto, thanks Josh!!!

This! For some reason my fob lost contact during my car being shipped across the U.S. Almost back in action...
