Removing the oil filter on the rs6

I have to admit I had a heck of time on removing the oil filter - I finally figured out the access area to remove the filter. My question is what kind of a wrench are you using to loosen/tighten the filter are you guys using?

    TIA

You can use a strap wrench to loosen the filter, a set of filter pliers, or you can use the Audi tool which is like a big socket to go over the end of the filter. Don't use anything but your hands to tighten the filter. As it says in the manual, wet the rubber gasket with fresh oil and spin it on until the gasket makes contact, then turn it 3/4 more. The filter will tighten after running the car for a while so if you put it on tight to begin with your going to have a hell of a time getting it off.
Most find it easier to disconnect the swaybar mounts in the back to drop the bar out of the way.
