On my RS6 with nearly 600hp and a little bit more than 160000 km (and original gearbox !!!), I switched from Castrol RS to Motul 300V 15W50. The engine is running a lot better. It takes more kilometers to warm up the oil but oil temperature is lower than before...

Just keep in mind that the 078115561K filter (W719/30 Mann) has a 2.5 bar bypass valve. This is pure speculation on my part, but your oil is probably bypassing the filter until it comes up to about 150F at that viscosity.
