seriously, was that a track event or a race?
why did the r8 and porsche lift to let the nissan pass? and why is it that the turbo didn't accelerate, gain, and overtake the nissan on the long straight after it was passed (look at the tach, he's shifting with 2K rpm to go before redline). that was the same straight it left the nissan for dead in the lap before.
nice vid though. i love japanese, it sounds so sarcastic.
Past- A4, TT, S4
Present- R8 V10
Yeah like all Best Motoring races where a Japanese performance car is competing the results look a bit suspect but one thing that we do learn from this video is how stable under cornering the AWD cars are compared to the RWD ones, especially so the R8 and GTR.
If ever anyone needed convincing that AWD is better behaved and easier controlled need look no further than this video.
Hanging the tail out is Vanity
but choosing AWD is Sanity
The R8 driver didn't look like he had it all under control....
Audi's are "beasts", but that GTR is fucking GODZILLA!! I would take that over anything on the road!!
I must agree, on sheer composure in the corners it's the GTR which looked best and the one with the most grip which in reality is even more amazing when you realise it's the heaviest by far and the one with the least desirable weight distribution and is even slightly nose heavy like most Audis.

Don't really buy into Best Motoring results but other evidence suggests the GTR is the fastest car there in time attack.

Depends how long the race is. Over 5 laps the GTR was always quick enough to outrun the Porsche but the pre-2011 GTRs struggled after that. The new ones are better though. I would expect the GTR to be faster over a few laps like in the video but in a real race there'd probably be far more blocking etc.
it's great that they actually do these comparison races.
