Time to Replace or Rebuild RS6 Torque Converter!!!

Hey Guys. I am dealing with the issue of whether replace the torque converter or have mine do an upgrade rebuilt it. The only one I talked to was A.C.E. Torque Converter, which, don't required a core to send, and I went to TOZO's shop in Illinois and he was very knowledgeable when it comes to Audi. I am open to any serious suggestions. I want to do the best, safe and correct change for my little beast, of course, to improve performance and reliability. Just to let you know, I am located in the Milwaukee, WI area. I hope to here from the experts. Thanks.

IMHO you live near Tozo and should take the car to him and say "get er done sir".

End of story. He will use what works and will stand behind his work.

I just went through this. Anyway, so far, the IPT-re-built unit is functioning properly. And, it was only a week and a half late!

Car was down for 17 calendar days.

Sorry, Tozo, you're WAY too far away from me...

Car is in the DC metro region. That's not a quick "jaunt".

Thanks for the welcome. I've had a 2001 S4 for my last 149,000 of driving. Been wanting the RS6 since - oh about - forever. It is Black on Black. 71,xxx miles on it. Sounds like the first order of business will be Eurocharged and MTM. I found out the prior owner cleared P0741 at 69000 miles. It came on for me at 70,200. I added lubeguard - scanned it at 70,800 miles P0741 was showing as pending. A new scan at 71,000 was clear no pending codes. I'm thinking that a upgraded Torque converter will be necessary with tuning.

I will. I have to wait until he gets a core and get it ready for me. Then he will set it up the way I want it. At that point I'll let the mechanic that I will choose that I am ready to get it done, and go from there. I let you know guys on due time, maybe around next late spring. Wish me good luck.
