Porsche GT2 RS Sportauto Nürburgring and Hockenheim times....
Are:
Nordschleife: 7.24 min
Hockenheimring: 1.08,4 min
I guess Porsche just made a point? Quicker by 0,2 seconds around Hockenheim and 8 seconds around the Nürburgring than the Carrera GT. As quick as the Gumpert Apollo Sport around the ring but looses with 1,2 around Hockenheim.
Pretty impressive for a car with engine in the back and simple gearbox.
Still Porsche claimed 7:18 by factory driver.
I guess there can be a difference between driver, just like in the case with the Nissan GT-R

Nissan GT-R MY2011(530ps/612Nm) Ring time 7.34min(driver HvS)
Audi R8 GT Hockemheim 1.10,0min
R8 GT faster than the Italia. wow. and only one tenth of one second slower than the 997.2 GT3 RS.
As usual- leave it to the mags to be consistently realistic about ring times. The RS's time is reasonable and extremely fast.
Past- A4, TT, S4
Present- R8 V10

10 seconds diff from the pig GT-R to the fastest mfing 911 ever made. Respect Nissan. I want one, just hope they can fall down on price, but the second hand market feels strong atm...

Remember that time isn't a supertest time though. With the first GTR they ran 7:50 before the supertest and 7:38 during! The official word for the 2012 GTR is sub-7:20.
