I bought a salvaged one off ebay for $5. There are usually a few floating around in there.

Ben, let me know where you find one. I need one too.

Edit: Found one at world impex, but it's the whole switch. I just need the cover as well.

It is the entire switch... if you look a the cover, there are 4 tabs that if you press down too hard/far, they snap and eventually the cover flies off... FFS!!!!

    $55... great...

You guys use that switch? I just realized it was there about a week ago, I don't understand why its there when there is a release on the decklid itself.

Its kinda hard not to break that little switch when you have 3ft monkey wrench in one hand and a 2ft 1 15/16ths in the other.

    Doh!

I used mine once - when I replaced it - to make sure it worked. Didn't like seeing it broken. Haven't touched it since.

Had to replace one of these in my old '99 A6. I liked having it there. I don't have many beverages in the beast, but may have to someday consider retrofitting this in there.

My warranty covered mine when it broke about three years ago. That was the first payback on my extended warranty.

Oh wow, that's pretty trick. I might get me one of those. With two people and drinks it's a must. Plus I hate the condensation drip from the dash one, and the armrest ones are totally rediculous.
