Willie you make some valid points. All I can say is this. The next time you are in Phoenix, AZ. Beer, golf and test rides are all on me. The machine can try to tax me into the dirt but they will not take my RS6 away from me nor keep me from chasing little white balls. They yelled at me today for hitting the range balls out past the outer marker. They get pissed when people do that. hehe

Dems are not suppose to be War Fighters but under each Dem I was sent to Iraq. Rep are not suppose to raise taxes but Bush 1 did that and Bush 2 just sold the damn farm. So like I said it doesn't matter who is in office, they all play by the same rules. No one person can change our political climate in America.

Gooseleg, I completely agree with you. Let's keep M3s in the "All other performance vehicles" section, and politics in the "Politics" section...of rs6.com. This is usually quite the intelligent forum, I agree, but notice how none of this is an intellectual debate, but individual ranting? "I challenge anyone" jesus christ, run for office if you're that fed up...

When was the last time you guys saw an even slightly productive conversation about politics, especially online?

I'm here to talk about the Beast not politics. Besides if Audi wanted us to have the car they would have made the changes. BMW and Mercedes did it. How was Audi able to produce the 04 A4, A6, Alroad and TT were they exempt from the changes?

I'm sure you benefit if folks keep their head in the sand. Its also nice to see RS6 input from members that post once every 3 months. Glad you could add to the content. Oh save the personal attacks and herrings.

This makes it much clearer. Call me when you pay 80k a year in taxes, actually work and pay for a RS6 and then watch as your government hands out cash for clunkers(4.5k), cash for caukers, cash for golf carts(8k),free 50k loans for deadbeat mortgages, 180 Billion to AIG, 60 Billion to GM. Then watch as the money you saved your entire life goes up in smoke when inflation kicks in to pay the national debt or when fat cat suits decide to tax your dividend payments at 40% when you already paid taxes on the money that you invested so that US companies could grow the economy. You can call me up and debate the topics then. Sir.

You should educate yourself on the subject.

    Audi was not exempt.

Audi would not redesign the fuel system of the RS6 to meet this stupid EPA mandate.

Mercedes did the redesign and its a massive failure. E55s are leaking fuel of the gas tank like crazy. Owners are having to replace very expensive level sensors because they keep leaking gas. The same redesigned level sensors to comply with the EPA mandate.

Do you see a trend yet?

Audi said no way to the redesign of the RS6 fuel system and stopped imports.

Audi was able to comply(A4,S4,A6,AR,A8) by coming up with a neat little fuel filter that also served as a pressure regulator that diverted the fuel back to the tank and thus made the EPA happy. But this design was no way able to provide the volume of fuel the RS6 needed and Audi would not take that chance.

Is that enough RS6 content for the uneducated.

Hence the question mark at the end:
How was Audi able to produce the 04 A4, A6, Alroad and TT were they exempt from the changes?

    Thanks for educating me!

No problem on my end. I was happy to educate you. The thread was fine till your PC comment was fired off. The thread was hardly off topic and into the weeds up to that point. Once that was said the fireworks started. Even members that post once every two months jumped in. Kinda fun how far PC gets us. I have plenty of popcorn. If you want VWvortex then go there. You have the choice to ignore the slightest tone of EPA rant or government mandate without calling foul. I mean really. You're selling your car anyways right?

    Correct.

But DHall's thread is not PC per se, it is about reasons we got screwed.

I worked with GM in 2006-2008. I will tell you that they did not deserve your bailout check, and you're about to get screwed again on their "IPO." If you don't understand that some of us are getting bent over and f-ed by the government right now then you're just not paying attention.

I lived through Carter and 55 mph national speed limits as a kid. We'll live through this. In 1978 my Dad ordered up a W72 Pontiac Formula Firebird with a 4-speed... One of 800 in that config. Smogged, choked, and legislated into less than 200 hp... But he had his buddy the Pontiac dealer put in a holley 650, a hot cam, cat delete pipes, and do a smog pump delete in the back room... built-in fuzzbuster and CB too. 55 my ass. My dad was a neurosurgeon and an ER doc. When he did get pulled over, he just let the officer know that he was on the way to the hospital, worked every time.

Thirty years later, I vote with my right foot and escape frustrating bullshit the same way he did. At least we can still sort of do that... In Australia, you have your car impounded and crushed for speeding. In the UK, speed cameras crawl out of every crack like the taxman's cockroaches. In other parts of europe, you can be fined tens of the thousands of dollars for traffic offenses, based on your ability to pay.

Wake up, more government is not better. Read your US history. Your founding fathers were what you would call a libertarian today.

    And don't forget to vote.

Do ya think he would run Aces in that Pontiac today? hehe Cool story and you know I agree with your economic and other views. That was a cool car back in the day. He should have dropped in one of the Ram air IV engines. Did you see IL bonds are actually rated worse than CA right now? That is simply amazing.

We all better thank our lucky starts that Audi was able to make the batch of "03" labeled RS6s in time to beat the EPA man and his stupid mandate. Because if you think about it....all these cars should have been 04s with their build dates so late in 03. And also thank Audi for sticking to the tested and proven fuel delivery system and not some hack job design rushed to meet this stupid EPA mandate like Mercedes Benz. Trust me when I say that you will see a class action suit on E class vehicles and or E55 vehicles sometime in the near future. Gas leaks from the gas tank and more specifically the stupid sending unit assemblies that seal the crappy returnless design. Watch out as the EPA is now acting as a political arm of the green suit monster and looking to add tax structure to CO2 emissions even without Cap and Trade. Why? Because we all know that CO2 is dangerous to your health. Oh boy.

Oh yeah, I vote with my golf clubs. F'em all, I'm going golfing. Pile the clubs in the Audi, crank the tunes, enjoy the 500hp and hit some balls, let the cockroaches tax that. Oh yeah, AmuletS6 and I have at the money Puts on XOM and it gapped down and further headed down today. Go get the clubs loaded up.

Just an FYI as Dave already pointed out. This being Erik's House, we need to keep it non politically related. Bonds and stocks fall under "finance" so I doubt Erik will have any issues whatsoever with those.

But we need to axe the "voting with my..." comments along with "how is the socialism working for you..." comments.

Whether I agree with them or not is irrelevant.

Daydream of a drain in every green where the cup is. Any ball hit on the green will drain right down into the cup.

    Doh

Then remember it takes 1,000 practice shots with every wedge to dail in your distance to 6ft. Ahhhh, but the 110yd wedge shot stuck to 6ft keeps you coming back for more. Not everyone can do it.
