Vellcome Comrades to zee USSof A

Glad I sold my car before we turned into the United Socialist States of America - first health care, next immigration, then cap-n-tax. Free services for anyone who wants to come here, anything that burns petroleum will soon be extinct. Value of assets everywhere in this country guaranteed to tank tomorrow. I bet Dave has been busy shorting anything and everything, too bad he can't effectively short the value of his car.

Yep, I'm left to sit powerless in my living room and wait while congress digs the middle classes grave.

Well, it is not as if we have been a free market society for quite awhile...

Keep in mind we are not a political forum here.

Been sayin it for 15 months. What took ya so long.

Hey, it could be worse....you could be in AZ or CA. Look who screwed up and didnt move to TX when we had the chance.

Market may not crash tomorrow. Give it a month.

Oh, slick edit to add RS6 content. I will keep my car till the wheels fall off. Then when we leave to Belize or Chile.....I will take it with me. Motorhome/trailer and RS6. (RS6 content.....where do I service my RS6 in Belize?)

    See ya later suckers.

Hey Max, did it snow again in AR? I hear the IRS is hiring 1,700 more IRS agents this year. Thats about 4 BILLION more per year for budget. I wonder what those agents will be looking for? Run Pat Run

^^- OMG- If you want to come pay for the healthcare for all- come on over RS6Driver. Our effective income tax marginal tax rates will now be as high as 60%. That doesn't even include the sales taxes, fuel taxes, excise taxes, taxes on taxes, etc that are also embedded in our system. That is not right to take 60% of someone's earned income and will take incentive away from the most productive of our society. Don't even get me started on the IRS tactics and the increase in their army due to HRC. The IRS intrusions into our personal lives is out of control. I am a CPA and have prepared or been responsible for thousands of tax returns and know what I speak. Our founding fathers would be loading up the tea wagon for our government.

If we didn't have to pay for the defense of the world's freedom (including your country), there would certainly be some available funds to provide health care to all. However; as long as the U.S. continues to shoulder the majority of the costs for freedom and protect it from those that would take it away, we must keep up our military (remind me again what was Sweden's contribution to the U.N. last year, and how much do you all spend on military (about zero) to help keep large portions of the world free?). I wonder who you would call if invaders crossed your borders to take over your country- No need to answer as I know it would be HELP-ME-USA.

If all the bleeding hearts want to provide insurance to others regardless of the personal choices (buy cigs or alchohol or drugs, gambling, etc), why don't they create a fund, contribute into it, and pay for the insurance for those they want to give insurance. However; they want to force upon everyone about $100,000,000/year (low side and will be much much much higher) of government cost so the government can take their share.

You might want to read up on the Romans and how they thought they could give everyone unlimited entitlements, and see how that worked out for them. History is a wonderful guide if anyone chooses to read and soak in the consequences of past activities.

Economics are economics and a productive minority cannot provide unlimited entitlements to the majority.

Dang good thing I already have the RS6 as we know the likelihood of any further beasts coming to the USA in these crazy times.

Mark me down as a brain washed American.

Yep- a little snow dusting in the NW part of the state. Mainly rain here this weekend so no golf. However; it allowed me to catch up on some needed work and putting some away for the RS6 fund.

    ^ - Like I said- freeloader.

Oh and I see I mistyped their cost estimate as $100,000,000/year...it is actually a estimated cost of $100,000,000,000/year. But what the hey- what's three zeros between friends.

You really sincerely believe what you have written there ? The USA are protecting their own economical and geopolitical interests not the world's freedom. It happens that the world's freedom is a prerequisite for free trading and emerging markets with investment opportunities plus a fresh couple billions of consumers. There are dozens of not so free states that America isn't doing shit about ... because it suits their interests not to interfere.

This talk is way too complicated for a online car enthusiast forum but to make a long story short ... please do not drink the kool aid.

PS: don't get me wrong i like the American way of doing things most of the times and living in the USA has many superb advantages ..

^^- I don't think it is just altruistic that we maintain the strongest military, and of course there is a lot of self interest in maintaining our might. My family spent 4 years in Europe at a base helping keep the peace. Therefore; I do know a little about what we do to protect others.

It goes without question that the U.S. shoulders the vast vast majority of the cost (in dollars and lives) for the protection of freedom. Again- who is always called upon when a country is invaded, or a natural disaster strikes? Of course it is a complex subject and I am broad stroking some of the points. I don't drink Kool-Aid. However; I read and can comprehend.

If you feel there are some "not so free states" that need help, get off your keyboard and get to work. I'll say it again- the productive minority cannot support unbridled entitlements to the majority. However; if you can figure that out, please have your country just pay for all the U.S. health care and send me my check so I can stop working! Please be my guest!

I hear ya gooseleg. However; the political environment certainly effects the cars that are available on the market, and the ability of persons to pay for such cars. However; outrageous tax rates certainly increases the value of the company car tax deduction. With an effective rate of 60% to 70% (if state is included), the gov't will be increasing its' portion of any company car purchase. That is certainly looking at the silver lining of a very very dark cloud. For those not interested in these comments, one can merely not read the posts- unlike the taxes we will have to pay.

Free healthcare would potentially be a manageable thing if it wasn't for the fact that the USA is 50-100x larger than many of the European countries that can't understand why Americans don't want it.

Large public programs can work in small communities that are mostly made up of people who are the same race/religion/culture - i.e. many European countries. That is not the case with America. The current political environment goes against the very design of the country that was to limit Federal power.

Don't forget that end the end, this bill results in 1 trillion tax dollars to "help" ~30 million people. It's absurd when you consider that we are already bankrupt. This is just another nail in the coffin.
