You know, the R8 was never a very elegant car anyway - I think it's ugly, but to my eyes it doesn't ruin the spirit of the design or anything.
In other words, not sacrilege - though it would be on a simpler, cleaner design such as an 8C Competizione. In my humble opinion...
maybe if that "performance modification" voided the warranty of the car that would be an adequate deterrant for people doing this kind of stuff

actually it doesn't look horrible from that angle. the supposed GT3 version will have a fixed rear wing afaik.
