    Abt or MTM....or any other!??!

    Hi guys,
I've been contemplating whether to go for ABT or MTM upgrade. The reason for the hestitation as which to go to is that my dealer had recommended ABT as they are VERY much connected to the factory and pretty much focus more on the durability rather than just pure speed. MTM on the other hand has done some serious deals and from the feedback i'm getting from people who have done their cars with them is that they are very happy with the setup. But from the experience of two guys with MTM in the country, one with an RS4 and the other with an S5 (both N/A engines), is that MTM took sometime to handle the problems they've had!! Since the RS6 is pretty much plug and go with no significant installation on the engine I don't think you will need significant chatter with whatever tuner.
Do you think its worth getting the ABT ECU mapping, with the mtm full exhaust, airfilter, and sport cats?! or just go with a full MTM upgrade?

I live in Kuwait, Arabian Gulf

Sorry if Its a repeat and for bothering some of you with PM

    THanks

I can just tell you my experience with the MTM stage II package on a '03 RS6. For the 2 years i had that car it was a great experience full of good memories, although one time there was some issue with the ECU. Can't remember now what it was exactly but the guys at the service said to have it reprogrammed. They noticed something during a regular service, I think one cylinder was not firing or something along those lines. Anyway it was something I didn't even notice until they told me -blush-

So it was sent from Spain to Germany with DHL and was back in my car 4 days later. The service seemed to be working well imo. The mechanic that I used for the service was not a MTM dealer/mechanic, just the local Porche specialist who serviced the car for me. I'm sure the ABT upgrade is a good choise too, but from my experience MTM worked very well. ah, I miss my beast...

Whichever way you decide to go, I'm sure you will love it!

It would help to know what vehicle your working on and your ultimate performance goals.

IMHO you will see very little performance gain by replacing the exhaust unless you plan up upgrade the hp level by 30-40%.

Really we have no idea what car you have.

I would go with MTM ecu upgrade on a C6 RS6.

I would not touch the exhaust unless you want added noise. Not much performance gain to be had.

How do you rate it in terms of power and durability against that of MTM, and/or any other tuner?

    Thanks
